Job summary

NTT DATA seeks a seasoned Linux Systems Integration Specialist in Bangalore to manage large-scale Linux environments. You will lead automation efforts with Ansible and Python, handle cloud/hybrid workloads, and oversee containers with Docker/Kubernetes.

The role requires strong incident management, security hardening, and ITIL-aligned governance. The incumbent will collaborate with DevOps teams to drive CI/CD, system design, and reliable operations, including on-call support in a 24x7

Qualifications

• Must have 8–10 years of Linux/Unix system administration experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Experience with kernel tuning, performance optimization, and capacity planning.
• Hands-on with Ansible / Puppet / Chef for automation and configuration management.
• Proficient scripting in Bash and Python for automation tasks.
• Cloud/hybrid infra experience with AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Extensive container experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.

Responsibilities

• Lead major incident handling (P1/P2) and perform RCA with preventive measures.
• Collaborate with DevOps and cloud teams for CI/CD integration and automation.
• Design scalable, highly available Linux environments and perform migrations/upgrades.
• Implement proactive monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, and logging stacks.
• Ensure security hardening and compliance per CIS/STIG/ISO/SOC2.

Job Description

Educational Qualification

Must be a graduate (B. Tech/B.E./MCA or equivalent).

Experience

8 to 10 years of experience in Linux/Unix system administration in large-scale enterprise environments.

Advanced Linux Administration

• Deep expertise in Linux OS (RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE, Rocky).
• Strong knowledge of kernel tuning, performance optimization, system internals, and capacity planning.
• Expertise in troubleshooting complex production issues.

Automation & Configuration Management

• Strong hands-on experience with Ansible / Puppet / Chef for configuration management and automation.
• Proficiency in Bash and Python scripting for automation and operational efficiency.
• Experience in building reusable automation frameworks.

Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure

• Hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS / Azure / GCP).
• Experience managing Linux workloads in cloud and hybrid environments.
• Understanding of cloud-native services, IAM, networking, and storage.

Containers & Orchestration

• Strong working knowledge of Docker / Podman.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes / OpenShift administration and troubleshooting.

Monitoring, Observability & Reliability

• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK stack, Splunk or similar tools.
• Exposure to SRE practices (SLI/SLO, alerting, incident response, error budgets).
• Ability to implement proactive monitoring and improve system reliability.

Security & Compliance

• Strong understanding of Linux security, hardening, and vulnerability management.
• Experience with compliance standards (CIS, STIG, ISO, SOC2) and audit support.

Incident, Problem & Change Management

• Lead major incident handling (P1/P2), perform RCA, and implement preventive measures.
• Strong knowledge of ITIL practices and governance.

System Design & Implementation

• Ability to design and implement scalable, highly available Linux environments.
• Experience in migrations, upgrades, and data center/cloud transformations.

Collaboration & DevOps Integration

• Work closely with DevOps, application, and cloud teams for CI/CD integration.
• Exposure to tools like Jenkins, Git, Terraform is desirable.

UNIX & Legacy Systems (Optional)

• Knowledge of AIX/Solaris for legacy system support is an added advantage.

Certifications

• RHCE/RHCA, LFCS/LFCE, or Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure) preferred.

Soft Skills & Leadership

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to mentor L1/L2 engineers and guide technical teams.
• Ownership mindset with strong analytical and decision-making ability.

Work Timings

• Willing to work in rotational shifts / on-call support in a 24x7 environment.
