Job summary

NTT DATA, Inc. is seeking a LINUX Systems Integration Specialist Advisor in Bangalore to lead enterprise Linux administration, patching, and automation across complex production environments. You will design HA, migrations, and DR strategies while mentoring L2/L3 engineers.

You will coordinate incident bridges, ensure SLA-driven delivery, and drive continuous improvement using ITIL processes, monitoring, and modern cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Graduate (B.Tech/B.E./MCA or equivalent) required.
• 10–15 years of Linux/Unix System Administrator experience in enterprise environments.
• Expertise in at least two UNIX flavors with Linux mandatory; AIX/Solaris/HP-UX preferred.
• Strong OS patching, vulnerability remediation, and compliance management experience.
• Proficient in shell scripting (Bash) with exposure to Python.
• Hands-on automation with Ansible / Puppet / Chef and automation frameworks.
• Excellent troubleshooting for complex system issues and incident bridges (P1/P2).
• Knowledge of clustering technologies (Veritas, Pacemaker, Red Hat Cluster).
• Experience building/upgrading Linux servers and performing OS migrations.
• Understanding of server hardware architectures, storage, and infrastructure roadmaps.
• Capacity planning, forecasting, and configuration management.
• ITIL/ITSM knowledge; experience with ServiceNow or Remedy.
• Virtualization and cloud experience (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V; AWS/Azure/GCP).
• OpenStack/OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes exposure is preferred.
• Data center operations, DR and large-scale migrations; monitoring/logging (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Splunk).
• Automation, AI-Ops exposure, Terraform; leadership and mentoring of L2/L3 engineers.
• Process, service delivery, and stakeholder management to meet SLAs.

Job Description

• Educational Qualifications
  • Must be a graduate (B.Tech/B.E./MCA or equivalent).
• Experience
  • Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience as a Linux/Unix System Administrator in enterprise environments.
• Unix/Linux Expertise
  • Expertise in at least two UNIX flavors (Linux is mandatory; AIX/Solaris/HP-UX preferred).
  • Deep understanding of Linux OS internals, performance tuning, and system architecture.
  • Ability to handle advanced day-to-day administration and complex production environments.
• Patching & Lifecycle Management
  • Strong expertise in OS patching, vulnerability remediation, and compliance management.
  • Experience with enterprise patching tools (e.g., Satellite, Spacewalk, or equivalent).
• Scripting & Automation
  • Strong proficiency in shell scripting (Bash) and good exposure to Python.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible / Puppet / Chef.

• Troubleshooting & Incident Management
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for complex system issues and outages.

  • Perform incident resolution, problem determination, and root cause analysis (RCA) aligned with SLAs.
• Clustering & High Availability
  • Strong knowledge of clustering technologies (e.g., Veritas, Pacemaker, Red Hat Cluster).
  • Experience in designing and supporting high availability environments.
• System Build & Upgrade
  • Ability to build, configure, and upgrade Linux servers across environments.
  • Experience in OS migrations, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Hardware & Infrastructure Knowledge
  • Understanding of server hardware architectures, storage, and infrastructure roadmaps.
  • Experience with performance optimization based on hardware capabilities.
• Capacity & Configuration Management
  • Strong experience in capacity planning, forecasting, and configuration management.
  • Ability to analyze system utilization and recommend improvements.
• ITSM & ITIL
  • Well-versed with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Release Management).
  • Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.
• Virtualization & Cloud
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V).
  • Hands-on experience or exposure to cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP).
  • Experience with modern platforms such as OpenStack, OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes is preferred.
• Data Center & Migration Expertise
  • Hands-on experience in data center operations, DR (Disaster Recovery), and server migrations.
  • Experience in large-scale transformation and migration projects.
• Monitoring & Observability
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk).
  • Ability to drive proactive monitoring and reliability improvements.
• Automation & Innovation
  • Experience in driving automation initiatives and operational excellence.
  • Exposure to emerging technologies like AI-Ops, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) is an advantage.

  • Experience in team handling, mentoring, and technical leadership.
  • Ability to guide L2/L3 engineers and ensure delivery excellence.
