Job summary

Lava International is seeking an experienced Linux and Cloud Infrastructure Administrator in India to manage a broad stack of on-prem and cloud technologies including RHEL/SUSE/Ubuntu, SAP HANA on SUSE, AWS services, VMware virtualization, and storage solutions. • Manage SAP HANA environments on SUSE Linux and SAP apps on RHEL.
• Patch, tune performance, troubleshoot, and harden systems.
• Manage users, filesystems, LVM, kernel tuning, and automation scripts.
• Install and configure DB servers (MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL) on Linux.
• Set up Nagios for Linux, Windows, and network monitoring.
• Support SAP HANA systems and non-SAP environments on RHEL.
• Package management with YUM, RPM, and source builds.

Responsibilities

• Handle AWS cloud administration including EC2, EBS, S3, VPC, RDS, IAM.
• Design secure, scalable cloud architectures with cost optimization.
• Execute cloud migrations and hybrid infrastructure setups.
• Oversee backup strategies, monitoring, and DR readiness.
• Work with VMware ESXi/vCenter for virtualization and capacity planning.
• Manage IBM storage/SAN environments and Tape Library configurations.
• Coordinate with vendors for hardware support and lifecycle management.
• Ensure data protection, disaster recovery, and compliance.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

1. Linux Administration (RHEL / SUSE / Ubuntu)

• Install, configure, and maintain RHEL, SUSE, CentOS, and Ubuntu servers
• Maintain and develop all Linux infrastructure technology to maintain a 24x7x365 uptime service.
• Day to day support of existing Linux & Storage environment support (monitoring alerts, responding to service tickets, preventative maintenance)
• Manage SAP HANA environments on SUSE Linux
• Administer SAP Application & Sybase databases on RHEL
• Perform patching, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and hardening
• Manage users, file systems, LVM, kernel tuning, and automation scripts
• Installation configuration of DB server (Mango DB, MySQL DB & PostgreSQL) on Linux machines.
• Installation and customized Nagios monitoring tool for Linux, Windows and Network monitoring.
• Manage SAP HANA systems on SUSE Linux
• Support SAP applications, Sybase DB, and non-SAP environments on RHEL
• Package management using YUM, RPM, and source builds

2. AWS Cloud Administration

• Manage and maintain AWS services including:
  • EC2, EBS, S3, VPC, ELB, IAM, RDS
• Design secure and scalable cloud architectures
• Implement cost optimization, monitoring, and backup strategies
• Handle cloud migrations and hybrid infrastructure setups
• Support cloud provisioning, and cost optimization
• Handle hybrid cloud integrations and migrations

3. Storage and SAN Management

• Administer enterprise storage systems:
  • IBM Storage (V7000, V5000, V3700 / 5200 / 5000)
• Manage SAN infrastructure and switches
• Configure and manage IBM Tape Library
• Monitor and maintain performance of storage environments and the systems that rely on them.

4. Backup, Recovery & Data Protection

• Manage backup solutions:
  • Veeam Backup & Replication
  • IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM)
• Perform:
  • Backup monitoring and reporting
  • Data recovery and restoration
  • Archival management
• Ensure zero data loss and DR readiness
• Ensure data protection, DR readiness, and backup compliance

5. VMware Virtualization

• Manage VMware environments (ESXi, vCenter)
• Provision and maintain virtual machines
• Handle HA, DRS, vMotion, snapshots, and resource optimization
• Perform capacity planning and performance monitoring

6. SAP Infrastructure Management

• Deploy and manage SAP HANA on IBM Power Systems and Intel platforms
• Support SAP landscapes including SAP Application and Sybase DB
• Ensure performance tuning and high availability

7. Server & Hardware Management

• Manage IBM Power Servers
• Manage Intel-based infrastructure
• Coordinate with vendors for hardware support and lifecycle manageme

8. Database Administration (Linux-Based)

• Install, configure, and maintain:
  • MongoDB
  • MSSQL
  • PostgreSQL
• Ensure database performance, availability, and security
• Perform backup, recovery, and optimization tasks

9. Monitoring & Performance Management

• Implement and manage monitoring tools such as Nagios
• Proactively monitor infrastructure performance and availability
• Troubleshoot incidents and perform root cause analysis

10. DevOps & Automation

• Work with DevOps tools:
  • GitLab, Jenkins, SVN
• Automate deployment, patching, and infrastructure tasks
• Support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code initiatives

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong expertise in Linux (RHEL, SUSE, Ubuntu)
• Experience in configuration of LAMP, SAMBA, FTP, NFS Server use Source code, yum and rpm Package
• Hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services
• Deep knowledge of enterprise storage & SAN environments
• Strong experience in backup solutions (Veeam, Tivoli)
• Solid understanding of VMware virtualization
• Experience with SAP HANA & SAP Basis infrastructure
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios)
• Familiar with on IBM Power server and SAP HANA.
• DevOps exposure (GitLab, Jenkins, SVN)
• Database management (MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
