Job summary

E+E invites passionate Lighting Designers to join our Mumbai studio, contributing to hospitality, retail, commercial and public environments. You’ll move between concept storytelling and technical detailing, turning early narratives into built lighting experiences.

You’ll develop concept presentations, create lighting layouts and specifications, and collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver thoughtful, engaging spaces that enhance how people experience light.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years’ work experience in architectural lighting design.
• Undergraduate degree in Lighting, Architecture, or Electrical Engineering.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; working knowledge of DIALux and Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

• Complete all phases of project lighting design from conception to final aiming and programming.
• Provide lighting design solutions aligned with client brief, budget and standards.
• Participate in coordination meetings with clients, consultants and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Prepare presentations to clients.
• Develop technical lighting proposals including calculations, product research, fixture evaluation, mock-up coordination, and performance validation.
• Produce and document the lighting design via CAD layouts, lighting details, schedules, and control specifications.
• Attend progress meetings on site and issue field reports to design team.

Job description

We are looking for Lighting Designers to join our Mumbai studio and become part of our growing ambitious team creating thoughtful and engaging lighting experiences across hospitality, retail, commercial and public environments. This role is for someone who enjoys both ideas and execution someone who can move between concept storytelling and technical detailing with equal curiosity.

You will contribute across the design process: developing concept presentations, producing lighting layouts and details, preparing specifications, and helping transform early narratives into built environments. We value designers who think creatively, communicate clearly, and care about how people experience space.

What you’ll bring

• Experience in independent architectural lighting design preferred with 1-2 years’ work experience with an understanding in lighting design across architectural, interior and landscape design projects.
• Undergraduate degree or higher in Lighting, Architecture, Electrical Engineer or related field
  
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is essential
• Working knowledge of DIALux is essential
• Knowledge in Adobe suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, and MS Office
• Understanding of visual storytelling and presentation skills
• Knowledge of Adobe After Effects or similar software would be beneficial but not necessary
• Working knowledge of 3D modelling software is a bonus
