Job summary

Headsup Corporation is seeking an experienced Liasoning Head to manage government liaison activities for our ground-mount solar projects. About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Liasoning Head to manage all government liasoning activities for our ground-mount solar projects. This role is critical to ensuring smooth regulatory clearances, approvals, and compliance across project sites, and requires someone with strong command over government departments, processes, and regulations relevant to the solar/renewable energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complete Liasoning with central, state, and local government departments for ground-mount solar projects.
• Drive timely acquisition of statutory approvals, licenses, NOCs, and clearances required for project execution (land conversion, power evacuation, environmental, electrical inspectorate, DISCOM/transmission approvals, etc.).
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with relevant government departments, regulatory bodies, and local authorities.
• Knowledge & Experience required for — MPNRED, MEDA Registration, PMC, DISCOM Approval, Connectivity Approval and CEIG Approval.
• Track changes in government policies, rules, and regulations affecting solar project development, and advise leadership accordingly.
• Coordinate with internal project, legal, and land teams to ensure documentation and applications meet regulatory requirements.
• Resolve liasoning-related bottlenecks, delays, or disputes at project sites through effective coordination with authorities.
• Travel extensively (~90%) to project sites and relevant government offices to ensure approvals and compliances are progressing as planned.
• Maintain accurate records/trackers of approval status, timelines, and documentation across all project sites.
• Represent the company in official meetings, hearings, or discussions with government departments as required.
• Provide regular status updates and reports to senior management on liasoning progress and risks.

Requirements

• Minimum 10+ years of overall liasoning/regulatory affairs experience.
• Mandatory: Prior experience in the solar industry , specifically with ground-mount solar projects.
• Strong, up-to-date knowledge of government departments, rules, and regulations relevant to solar/renewable energy project approvals.
• Established network and working relationships with government bodies, DISCOMs, land revenue departments, electrical inspectorates, and other relevant authorities.
• Proven track record of successfully managing liasoning and securing approvals for large-scale solar projects.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively (~90%) to various project locations and government offices.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects/locations simultaneously.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Law, Engineering, or Public Administration preferred); relevant certifications in regulatory affairs are a plus.
• Prior experience in a senior liasoning leadership role (Liasoning Head / Government Relations Head / Regulatory Affairs Head) within the solar/renewable energy sector.
