Job summary

Tag is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to support APAC business across multiple countries. You will draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, and provide pragmatic legal advice to mitigate risks while ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will work with cross-functional teams including procurement, finance, operations and IT, acting as a trusted partner in a fast-paced multinational environment with a proactive approach to AI and legal tech.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognised university in India.
• Master’s degree in Law or relevant Commercial/Corporate/IP/Tech/Data Privacy is advantageous.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership abilities.
• Fluent in English with clear written and oral drafting skills.
• Experience contracting, IP, privacy, data security and regulatory matters.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a broad range of commercial agreements including MSA, SOW, marketing, vendor and software/IP licenses.
• Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to APAC stakeholders and identify risks with pragmatic solutions.
• Advise on marketing, AI governance, AI procurement, and emerging regulations affecting products and services.
• Support data protection, privacy, cross-border data transfers and regulatory compliance efforts.
• Develop templates, playbooks, and clauses to improve efficiency and risk management.
• Leverage AI-enabled legal tools for contract review, research and drafting in collaboration with teams.
• Collaborate with legal and business stakeholders across functions and geographies; coordinate external counsel when needed.
• Build trusted relationships and act as a proactive legal business partner.

Job description

As a Legal Counsel - APAC, you will provide commercially focused legal support to Tag's business across multiple countries in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. You will draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, provide pragmatic legal advice, identify and mitigate legal risks, and support strategic business initiatives while ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.

Working closely with commercial, procurement, finance, operations, technology, information security, privacy, HR and other business teams, you will act as a trusted business partner in a fast-paced multinational environment. This senior individual contributor role requires strong commercial judgement, stakeholder management, the ability to manage a diverse workload independently, and a proactive approach to leveraging AI and legal technology to enhance legal service delivery.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a broad range of commercial agreements, including client Master Services Agreements, Statements of Works, marketing and creative services agreements, production agreements, supplier and procurement agreements, technology and SaaS agreements, software and intellectual property licences, influencer and content creator agreements, professional services agreements, NDAs and other commercial contracts.
• Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to business stakeholders across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, identifying legal and commercial risks and developing pragmatic solutions that support business objectives.
• Advise on legal matters relating to marketing and advertising, creative production, technology, artificial intelligence (AI), digital services, intellectual property, data protection and privacy, information security, regulatory compliance and other commercial matters.
• Support AI-related initiatives by advising on AI governance, responsible AI use, AI procurement, AI-enabled products and services, emerging AI regulations, contractual protections and associated legal risks.
• Advise on privacy and data protection matters, including data processing arrangements, cross-border data transfers and compliance with applicable privacy laws, and support broader legal compliance and governance initiatives.
• Develop, maintain and enhance legal templates, contract playbooks, standard clauses, guidance notes and contracting processes to improve efficiency, consistency and risk management.
• Leverage AI-enabled legal technologies to enhance contract review, legal research, drafting, knowledge management and legal operations while ensuring their responsible, secure and compliant use.
• Collaborate effectively with legal and business stakeholders across functions and geographies to deliver consistent, commercially focused legal support and contribute to regional and global legal initiatives.
• Coordinate with external legal counsel where required and manage legal matters efficiently to support business needs.
• Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and act as a proactive, solution-oriented legal business partner.

Professional Skills/Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law from a recognised university in India. A Master's degree in Law or a relevant specialisation in Commercial Law, Corporate Law, Intellectual Property, Technology Law or Data Privacy will be an advantage.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and lead cross-functional legal initiatives
• Media experience or IT experience preferred
• Experience and knowledge of legal principles relating to contracting, IP, privacy and data security, company law, litigation and dispute management
• Fluent in English. Excellent drafting skills with an ability to express advice clearly and concisely in written and oral communications
• A good eye for detail, as well as an ability to understand the bigger picture
• A problem solver who is able to make practical decisions in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
