Job summary

Special Minds India is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant (shadow teacher) for on-site placement in New Delhi. You will support a child with additional needs inside their mainstream classroom, under the school's inclusion policy and at the school's invitation.

Responsibilities include one-to-one work, applying therapy-based strategies, keeping daily records, and participating in regular reviews with family and school. Fluency in English is required; Hindi/Marathi is a plus.

Qualifications

• Qualification in special education, education, psychology or child development
• Teaching or teaching-assistant background with experience of children with additional needs
• Experience supporting a child with autism/ADHD or similar needs in school/centre/home
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written); Hindi or Marathi is an asset
• Two referees who have seen you work with a child and will speak to us by phone/video

• Keep a short daily record that the family, the school and the child's therapists can all read

• Follow the safeguarding code you sign, and tell us early when something is wrong

Special Minds India introduces vetted shadow teachers and special educators to families in Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Pune, coordinates with the child's school and supervises every placement. We are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant, also called a shadow teacher, for an on-site placement in India.

Location: New Delhi, on-site at the child's school.

This is not a position in the UAE and involves no relocation or travel.

The role

You support one child with additional needs inside their mainstream classroom, at the school's invitation and under its inclusion policy. The aim is for the child to follow instructions, stay regulated, take part and keep up, without you doing the work for them.

Qualifications

• Two referees who have seen you work with a child and will speak to us by phone or video


• Patience for progress measured in small, repeated steps, and the discipline to keep a daily record
