Job summary

Autismhelp seeks a compassionate Shadow Teacher with a strong psychology background to support a single student with special needs. You will provide one-on-one emotional, behavioral and academic support to help the child integrate into class, build independence, and thrive socially and academically.

The role requires an M.Sc. in Psychology and proven experience with ASD/ADHD; you will implement behavioral plans, use positive reinforcement, and collaborate with teachers and parents to align

Qualifications

• M.Sc. in Psychology (Applied, Clinical, or Child Psychology preferred).
• Proven experience working with special needs children (e.g., ASD, ADHD, learning disabilities).
• Strong understanding of child development and behavioral therapy techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one assistance to the child throughout the school day.
• Implement tailored behavioral intervention plans based on psychological principles.
• De-escalate challenging behaviors using positive reinforcement strategies.
• Adapt classroom material to match the child's learning style and pace.
• Foster social interactions by helping the child communicate and bond with peers.
• Encourage independent problem-solving rather than doing the work for them.
• Partner closely with the main classroom teacher to ensure minimal disruption.
• Maintain detailed logs of the child's daily progress, triggers, and milestones.
• Communicate regularly with parents and external therapists to align strategies.
