Vertiv Group in Pune-Chakan seeks a Senior Firmware Developer - Thermal Application to lead design, development, validation and support of electrical and electronic systems for HVAC equipment, with hands-on experience in screw chillers and thermal products.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, review schematics, drive DVT and commissioning, and mentor juniors while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent).
• 4 to 6 years of relevant industry experience in HVAC/industrial machinery.
• Strong experience with HVAC systems and screw chiller machines.
• Solid knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and VFDs.
• Proficient PLC and HMI programming in industrial/HVAC apps.
• Experience with BACnet and Modbus integrations.
• Programming in C, C++, ST, or FBD; able to review logic with software teams.
• Experience testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting HVAC systems.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
• Strong analytical and leadership skills.

Responsabilidades

• Lead design and development of electrical and electronic systems for HVAC machines.
• Prepare, review, and approve electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, interlock logic, and BOMs.
• Select and integrate electrical and electronic components such as VFDs, controllers, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, protection devices, and safety components.
• Lead and support PLC and HMI programming activities, including control logic review, I/O allocation, tag mapping, alarm handling, and parameter optimization.
• Drive BMS integration (BACnet / Modbus or equivalent), including points list definition, signal mapping, validation, and coordination with site/BMS teams.
• Support control philosophy development and close integration of electrical systems with controls and embedded software.
• Drive design validation testing (DVT), dry testing, performance testing, and troubleshooting in lab and factory environments.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for electrical and controls‑related issues identified during testing or field operation.
• Support commissioning, field issues, and service escalations related to electrical, controls, and automation systems.
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Software, Product Management, QA, Sourcing, and Service teams to ensure successful product execution.
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical standards, safety norms, cybersecurity guidelines (where applicable), and regulatory requirements.
• Support component localization, alternate sourcing, and cost optimization initiatives without compromising performance or reliability.
• Provide technical guidance, reviews, and mentoring to junior engineers and team members.

Job Description

Senior Firmware Developer - Thermal Application

Location – Pune Chakan

Position Summary

The Senior Firmware Developer - Thermal Application engineer will be responsible for leading the design, development, validation, and support of electrical and electronic systems for HVAC equipment, with strong hands‑on experience in screw chiller machines and thermal products. This role involves technical leadership, cross‑functional coordination, and end‑to‑end ownership of electrical, controls, and integration activities throughout the product lifecycle—from concept to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electrical and electronic systems for HVAC machines, including screw chillers and thermal products.
• Prepare, review, and approve electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, interlock logic, and BOMs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent).
• 4 to 6 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in HVAC, industrial machinery, or automation systems.
• Strong machine‑level experience with HVAC systems, particularly screw chiller machines and thermal products.
• Deep knowledge of industrial electrical systems, power distribution, control panels, safety circuits, and VFD applications.
• Solid working experience with PLC and HMI programming in industrial or HVAC applications.
• Proven exposure to BMS integration using standard industrial protocols such as BACnet and Modbus.
• Working knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, Structured Text (ST), and Function Block Diagram (FBD); ability to review logic and coordinate with software teams.
• Hands‑on experience in testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting complex HVAC and automation systems.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, control schematics, functional descriptions, and technical specifications.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and team‑leadership skills.
