Job summary

Lennox India Technology Centre in Chennai seeks a senior electrical design engineer to develop electrical systems for HVAC products, including control panels, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

You will create detailed electrical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, and SolidWorks Electrical, and develop control strategies for AHU, chillers, and rooftop units. Collaboration with mechanical and software teams is essential for integrated product development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering; 5+ years related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and components (Chillers, AHUs, HVAC controls).
  • Experience in electrical design and schematic development.
  • Hands-on CAD experience with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, etc.
  • Good understanding of control systems, PLCs, VFDs, and sensors.
  • Knowledge of electrical standards and safety regulations.
  • Understanding of panel design and wiring practices.
  • Exposure to Digital Twin/system modeling is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems for HVAC products, including control panels, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Create detailed electrical drawings using AutoCAD / EPLAN / SolidWorks Electrical
  • Develop and validate control strategies for HVAC systems (AHU, Chillers, Rooftop Units, etc.)
  • Select electrical components such as sensors, PLCs, relays, drives, and control devices
  • Ensure designs comply with international standards (UL, CE, IEC, NEC, etc.)
  • Work closely with mechanical, software, and systems teams for integrated product development
  • Support prototype build, testing, and validation activities
  • Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and design improvements
  • Prepare technical documentation, BOMs, and design reports

Job Description
