Job summary

Mployee.me in Pune is seeking a Senior Firmware Developer - Thermal Application to lead end-to-end electrical and embedded software efforts for HVAC screw chiller projects. You will own electrical design, controls integration, and validation across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• 4 to 6 years of relevant industry experience in HVAC, industrial machinery, or automation systems.
• Strong experience with HVAC systems, especially screw chillers and thermal products.
• Deep knowledge of industrial electrical systems, power distribution, control panels, safety circuits, and VFDs.
• Solid experience with PLC and HMI programming in industrial or HVAC applications.
• Exposure to BMS integration using BACnet and Modbus.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, ST, and FBD.
• Hands-on testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting HVAC/automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead PLC/HMI programming, including logic review, I/O allocation, tag mapping, and alarms.
• Drive BMS (BACnet/Modbus) integration: points list, signal mapping, validation.
• Support control philosophy development and integration of electrical with controls/embedded software.
• Drive design validation testing (DVT), dry testing, and troubleshooting in lab/factory.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for electrical/controls issues.
• Support commissioning, field issues, and service escalations for electrical/controls systems.
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Software, Product Management, QA, Sourcing, and Service teams.
• Ensure compliance with electrical standards, safety norms, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist component localization, alternate sourcing, and cost optimization without performance loss.

Senior Firmware Developer - Thermal Application

Position Summary

The Senior Firmware Developer - Thermal Application engineer will be responsible for leading the design, development, validation, and support of electrical and electronic systems for HVAC equipment, with strong hands‑on experience in screw chiller machines and thermal products. This role involves technical leadership, cross‑functional coordination, and end‑to‑end ownership of electrical, controls, and integration activities throughout the product lifecycle-from concept to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electrical and electronic systems for HVAC machines, including screw chillers and thermal products.
• Prepare, review, and approve electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, interlock logic, and BOMs.
• Select and integrate electrical and electronic components such as VFDs, controllers, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, protection devices, and safety components.
• Lead and support PLC and HMI programming activities, including control logic review, I/O allocation, tag mapping, alarm handling, and parameter optimization.
• Drive BMS integration (BACnet / Modbus or equivalent), including points list definition, signal mapping, validation, and coordination with site/BMS teams.
• Support control philosophy development and close integration of electrical systems with controls and embedded software.
• Drive design validation testing (DVT), dry testing, performance testing, and troubleshooting in lab and factory environments.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for electrical and controls‑related issues identified during testing or field operation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent).
• 4 to 6 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in HVAC, industrial machinery, or automation systems.
• Strong machine‑level experience with HVAC systems, particularly screw chiller machines and thermal products.
• Deep knowledge of industrial electrical systems, power distribution, control panels, safety circuits, and VFD applications.
• Solid working experience with PLC and HMI programming in industrial or HVAC applications.
• Proven exposure to BMS integration using standard industrial protocols such as BACnet and Modbus.
• Working knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, Structured Text (ST), and Function Block Diagram (FBD); ability to review logic and coordinate with software teams .
• Hands‑on experience in testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting complex HVAC and automation systems.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, control schematics, functional descriptions, and technical specifications.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and team‑leadership skills.
