Vertiv Group in Pune (Chakan) is looking for a Thermodynamic HVAC/chiller Engineer to join the Thermal Management R&D and Engineering team. You will focus on chiller products for data center cooling, driving design from concept to production.

The role requires 5–7 years in HVAC/chiller projects, a Master’s in mechanical engineering, and strong thermodynamics and refrigeration knowledge. Travel overseas may be required as needed.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot technical problems in products under your responsibility.

Description:

Vertiv is looking for a Thermodynamic HVAC/chiller Engineer to be part of the Thermal Management mechanical Design team within the R&D Department, based in Chakan, Pune-India. He/She will be mainly focused on the Chiller products.

Responsibilities & Role Requirements:

• To manage the development of new R&D chiller product in the data center cooling sector for high profile and well-known global datacenter customers.
• Deliver a fast and customer focused response on “engineered to order” (ETO) projects, where a new solution is based on an existing and well proven platform.
• Work in a multi-disciplinary engineering team on global products focusing on high-performance, cost-effective design and market leading innovation.
• To lead the design of new products or re-engineer existing ones, collaborating with Marketing, Procurement and Industrial Engineering, being aware of the customers’ needs.
• Autonomous component selections, thermodynamic design and technical file arrangement for chiller products.
• To approve and review product documentation (CAD drawings, specifications, bills of material).
• To meet objectives of cost, quality, environment and time of execution, achieving the best trade-off between market and internal customer needs.
• To analyze and resolve technical problems as regards products under his/her responsibility.
• Availability to travel on request overseas.
• A good level of experience in the Chiller/HVAC sector with particularly good knowledge of Thermodynamics and refrigeration.

Qualifications & Experience

• A minimum of a master’s in mechanical engineering is required.
• At least 5-7 years of previous working experience on similar projects, ideally in the HVAC/chiller sector.
• Good knowledge of thermodynamics and refrigeration principles are essential.
• English – Intermediate level – written and spoken.
• A high level of motivation combined with leadership abilities is required.
• Knowledge of technical norms and standards.
