Job summary

Tata Capital seeks a senior professional to oversee debt syndication deals in infrastructure sectors, focusing on managing a portfolio of debt and structured finance investments. The role involves liaising with banks and FIs, conducting financial analysis and due diligence, and driving deal closures from inception to completion.

You will lead a team, originate new opportunities, and build expertise in core infrastructure sectors, including CleanTech, while ensuring credit quality and portfolio

Qualifications

• MBA/CA with experience in debt syndication or structured finance.
• Strong financial and risk assessment skills for project finance.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Oversee debt syndication deals in infrastructure sectors for Tata Capital.
• Understand client debt requirements and prepare proposals for banks and NBFCs.
• Perform financial due diligence and comprehensive deal analysis.
• Lead closure of financing documents and oversee transaction execution from start to finish.
• Build and maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions.
• Originate deals by engaging with institutions, clients, and stakeholders.
• Assess creditworthiness and conduct due diligence on potential clients.
• Mentor and develop team members to build sector expertise.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to oversee debt syndication deals within TCCLs infrastructure sectors, with a specific focus on managing a portfolio of debt and structured finance investments in Indian institutions operating within the infrastructure finance space.

Main Accountabilities

Client Engagement and Transaction Management

• Understand clients debt requirements and develop proposals for various investors, including Private and Public Sector Banks and NBFCs.
• Track the financial and operational performance of clients continuously.
• Collaborate closely with the sales and credit teams on various deals.

Financial Analysis and Due Diligence

• Conduct comprehensive financial analysis of potential deals.
• Ensure thorough due diligence in assessing the viability and risk associated with transactions.

Deal Closure and Documentation

• Lead the closure of financing documents in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Supervise the execution of transactions from inception to closure.

Liaison and Networking

• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Banks and FIs.
• Network to identify new business opportunities and potential clients.

Sales Business Development

Business Origination

• Originate deals and expand the network by engaging with institutions, clients, and stakeholders.

Credit Appraisal and Management

• Assess creditworthiness and perform due diligence on potential clients.

Team Leadership and Coaching

• Manage and lead a team.
• Mentor and coach team members to develop sector expertise.

Major Deliverables

• Increase the number of new projects/accounts.
• Build and maintain a healthy portfolio with zero delinquency.
• Achieve Net Interest Margin (NIM) targets.
• Generate fee income through successful syndication deals.
• Establish and sustain relationships with Banks and FIs.
