Overview

Gallagher Center of Excellence is seeking to hire a Senior Analyst for FRS Pension Administration vertical. The Senior Consultant is responsible for getting things right for the client. Excellent organizational skills and thoroughness along with adequate technical knowledge are required. The primary focus of the Senior Consultant is to manage external workflow to the client, keep the client’s expectations managed, and ensure all quality control measures have been followed. Additionally, this level demands assistance to the Director and Principal in identifying opportunities for client service. The Senior Consultant is also expected to take a role in account management and helping to ensure that projects and client work is done efficiently with maximized realization.

Responsibilities

• Reviews the calculation and deliverable for benefit calculations with minimal guidance from supervisor.
• Reviews payments processed with the Trustee.
• Reviews letters and other such client/participant materials.
• Supervises large project mailings, Employee Benefit Statements and other annual projects for assigned clients.
• Responsible for implementation of lump sum/plan termination windows to ensure deadlines are met.
• Provides leadership and training to Associate level team members and is generally responsible for the operation of the client team.
• Works with Account Executive for any necessary amendments to the Plan document
• Assists in gathering and providing information to outside auditors

Minimum Required Degree: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Experience : 2 to 4 years of relevant experience

An effective Senior Consultant must know when to involve people with more experience and must keep senior personnel in the loop, as appropriate. • Initiative and a sense of responsibility – takes personal responsibility for the timeliness and quality of the work he or she performs and for completing the work within budget. Deals directly with most of his or her clients on the nature of assignments and timing; making commitments on behalf of the firm. Acts on new opportunities accepts challenges and responsibilities. Understands and acts on the need to keep current within the legal, regulatory, and accounting framework and to be abreast of trends (e.g., attends training sessions).
• Both Seeks and Delivers the big picture –wants to understand the big picture and seeks help to understand it. Uses the tools of the trade – the Internal Revenue Code and regulations for compliance and funding considerations, the Financial Accounting Standards Board Statements and “Q’s and A’s” for financial accounting rules and/or Governmental Accounting Standards Board Statements, and our internal experts. Critical to the Sr Consultant role is to also effectively deliver the bigger picture details, in an understandable way, to the junior members of the team.

Capabilities and Competencies

• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to participate in a client meeting covering topics about which he or she has knowledge and responsibility.
• Be fully responsible for organizing, delegating and supervising the work of consultants and senior associates in their competencies noted above.
• Within the context of the individual’s knowledge, able to manage a project, including coming up with a plan for getting the work done, directing the work of others and completing the work product on time and within budget
• Able to, with input from those more experienced, manage most special projects for clients. Strong knowledge of ERISA (laws, rules and regulations)
