Job summary

Essar Career Site is seeking a QA leader in the food industry to oversee quality across production, packaging and handling, ensuring strict adherence to food safety standards and SOPs.

You will mentor QA staff, prepare for audits (HACCP, FSSAI, ISO), approve material quality, and drive CAPA and quality improvements across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• Experience leading QA in food manufacturing or processing.
• Familiarity with HACCP, FSSAI, ISO audits and certifications.
• Proficient in documenting QA activities, reports, and logs.
• Skilled in root cause analysis and CAPA implementation.
• Ability to drive quality improvements and reduce waste.
• Collaborates effectively with procurement, production and logistics.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA processes across production, packaging, and handling to ensure food safety and SOP adherence.
• Mentor and train quality executives and frontline QA staff on safety protocols.
• Prepare for and lead internal and external audits including HACCP, FSSAI, ISO.
• Approve raw material quality and oversee finished product inspections.
• Drive resolution of quality issues via root cause analysis and CAPA.
• Document QA activities: reports, logs, checklists, compliance records.
• Present periodic quality dashboards and reports to management.
• Identify quality improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with procurement, production and logistics to ensure end-to-end QC.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead quality assurance processes across production, packaging, and handling to ensure adherence to food safety standards and internal SOPs.

• Supervise, mentor, and train quality executives and frontline QA staff on food safety protocols and quality best practices.

• Prepare for and lead internal and external audits including HACCP, FSSAI, ISO, and other regulatory or certification audits.

• Approve raw material quality and oversee sensory, physical, and quality inspections of finished products.

• Drive resolution of quality issues and customer complaints through root cause analysis and implementation of CAPA.

• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all QA activities including reports, logs, checklists, and compliance records.

• Prepare and present periodic quality dashboards and reports to management.

• Identify and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and strengthen food safety systems.

• Collaborate with Procurement, Production, and Logistics teams to ensure end-to-end quality control across the supply chain.
