Job summary

GMR Group is seeking a seasoned Project Planning, Management & Execution professional to lead scheduling, cost control, and overall project governance for renewable energy assets in India. You will coordinate with Senior Project Executives and HO stakeholders to ensure milestones are met within approved timelines and budgets.

The role requires 10–12 years in project planning and management across solar, wind, hybrid, or storage projects, with strong proficiency in MS Project and Primavera P6.

Qualifications

  • PMP Certification is mandatory.
  • 10–12 years of project planning & management experience in renewable energy.
  • Proficient in MS Project and Primavera P6.
  • Engineering background or degree preferred for related disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed time-bound project schedules using MS Project / Primavera.
  • Prepare and maintain WBS and resource-loaded schedules with critical path focus.
  • Monitor progress and update schedules to reflect site realities and changes.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly schedule updates, dashboards, and milestone reports.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction teams to ensure plans align with budgets and timelines.
  • Provide timely schedule reports and communicate deviations to HO leadership.

Job Purpose

A highly skilled Project Planning, Management & Execution Professional to lead planning, scheduling, costing, and overall project control for renewable energy projects (Solar, Wind, Hybrid, Storage). This role ensures that all projects progress as per approved timelines, budgets, and quality standards through close coordination with Senior Project Execution Lead and Head Office stakeholders.

Project Planning & Scheduling
  • Develop detailed time-bound project schedules using MS Project / Primavera, covering all construction and commissioning activities.
  • Create WBS, resource-loaded schedules, procurement timelines, and track critical path activities.
  • Continuously update schedules to reflect site realities; identify slippages and formulate recovery plans.
  • Prepare and share weekly/fortnightly/monthly schedule updates, dashboards, and milestone status reports.
  • Ensure comprehensive project schedules are developed and maintained, covering all activities and dependencies.
  • Regularly update schedules to reflect site realities and communicate changes promptly.
  • Provide timely and accurate schedule reports and dashboards to stakeholders.
Cost Planning & Budget Management
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and BoP works in coordination with Engineering and Procurement.
  • Track budgets vs. actuals, raise cost variation alerts, and support commercial teams in cost optimization and contractor negotiations.
  • Maintain project cost sheets, cash flow forecasts, and cost-to-complete (CTC) reports.
  • Support validation of contractor invoices, claims, and reconciliation.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed cost estimates and forecasts for all project components.
  • Monitor budget utilization and highlight potential cost deviations proactively.

Project Monitoring & Control
  • Monitor and control project progress aligned with planned timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Work closely with Project Execution Leads and Regional teams to resolve bottlenecks and ensure timely approvals.
  • Track material delivery schedules, design approvals, EPC progress, and statutory clearance timelines.
  • Maintain risk registers for each project and drive mitigation actions proactively.
  • Track project progress against planned timelines and budgets, ensuring alignment with quality standards.
  • Identify risks and delays early and implement recovery or mitigation plans promptly.
  • Maintain visibility on material deliveries, approvals, and statutory clearances to avoid bottlenecks.

Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Act as the central planning anchor between Engineering, Procurement, Execution, Contracts, Finance, SCM, Regulatory & Approvals, and EPC partners.
  • Conduct structured project review meetings with documented MoMs and action trackers.
  • Ensure timely availability of drawings, approvals, permits, and materials in alignment with the project schedule.
  • Ensure timely completion of the project by following up and expediting various activities
  • Escalate critical issues to HO leadership with clear impact assessment and recommendations.
  • Facilitate structured review meetings and ensure action items are documented and tracked.
  • Coordinate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely availability of resources and approvals.

Quality, Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure compliance with QHSE standards, internal SOPs, and approved quality plans.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation—baseline schedules, revised schedules, cost trackers, risk logs, design approvals, MoMs, etc.
  • Support internal/external audits and management reviews.
  • Ensure adherence to QHSE standards and internal SOPs throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain complete and updated documentation for schedules, costs, risks, and approvals.
  • Support audits and reviews by ensuring compliance and readiness of project records.
MIS & Reporting
  • Prepare management-level presentations summarizing project status, delays, risks, and recovery measures.
  • Share weekly and monthly MIS covering schedule variance, cost variance, EPC progress, and readiness for key milestones.
  • Present trend analysis on delays, cost deviations, and performance KPIs.
  • Deliver timely and accurate MIS reports summarizing project status, risks, and variances.
  • Provide trend analysis and insights on delays, cost deviations, and performance indicators.
  • Prepare management presentations highlighting key milestones, challenges, and recovery measures.
