• Knowledge of project planning, MIS and cost control.

Role Summary

We are looking for a senior Project Management professional who can take complete ownership of renewable energy projects from project handover/initiation through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and final handover.

The incumbent will be responsible for driving projects on time, within budget, as per agreed quality standards and with strict adherence to HSE and contractual requirements.

The role will be based out of Mumbai HO and will require regular travel to project sites across India.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Project Ownership

• Own the complete project lifecycle from project initiation/handover to commissioning and final handover.
• Develop project execution strategy, milestones, resource plans and delivery priorities.
• Take accountability for project schedule, cost, quality, safety and overall delivery.
• Identify project risks and drive timely corrective and preventive actions.

2. Engineering & Design Coordination

• Coordinate with Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, SCADA and other engineering teams.
• Review engineering deliverables, drawings, BOQs, technical specifications and project requirements.
• Ensure engineering activities are aligned with construction and project milestones.
• Resolve design and constructability issues in coordination with respective teams.

3. Procurement & Vendor Management

• Coordinate with Procurement and Supply Chain for timely availability of major equipment and materials.
• Monitor vendor/OEM deliverables against project requirements.
• Manage EPC contractors, subcontractors and major project vendors.
• Identify procurement-related risks and ensure timely mitigation.

4. Project Execution & Site Management

• Lead project execution through project/site teams and EPC contractors.
• Monitor Civil, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, DC/AC, HT/LT, Transmission and other project activities as applicable.
• Conduct regular project/site reviews and ensure milestone achievement.
• Ensure proper manpower, machinery, material and contractor deployment.

5. Cost & Commercial Control

• Monitor project budget, committed cost, actual cost and cost-to-complete.
• Control project cost overruns and identify opportunities for cost optimisation.
• Coordinate with Commercial/Contracts/Finance teams for project-related commercial matters.
• Review variations, claims, change orders and contractual obligations.

6. Commissioning & Project Handover

• Drive testing, commissioning, synchronization and COD-related activities.
• Ensure closure of punch points and pending works.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for project completion.
• Ensure complete project documentation and final handover to O&M/operations.

7. Stakeholder Management

• Act as the key project interface between Management, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Quality, HSE, Commercial, Finance, Clients and Contractors.
• Conduct project review meetings and present project status to senior management.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and other external stakeholders.

8. Team Leadership

• Lead multidisciplinary project teams.
• Set clear deliverables and accountability for project team members.
• Build a performance-oriented project culture.
• Mentor and develop project managers, engineers and site teams.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should have:

• 15 - 20 years of overall experience in Solar EPC / Renewable Energy / Wind EPC.
• Strong experience in end-to-end project execution.
• Experience managing large-scale / MW-scale renewable projects.
• Proven experience handling multidisciplinary teams and EPC contractors.
• Strong understanding of Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning.
• Good understanding of project planning, Primavera/MS Project and project MIS.
• Experience in project cost control, contracts, vendor management and risk management.
• Strong stakeholder-management and decision-making capability.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across India.
