Job summary

Tata Projects is seeking a Lead Project Controller for the Assam site to head project controls across EPC programs, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and quality. You will coordinate with delivery offices across India and lead a large project controls team.

The role requires deep expertise in cost engineering, scheduling, risk and change management, and hands-on leadership of a major controls group. Proficiency in Primavera, SAP and ERP tools is essential.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate/Master's in construction or project management with 20+ years EPC project controls experience.
• Bachelor's in Engineering/Construction Management with 22–25 years experience.
• PMI certifications (PMP/PMI-SP/CCP/CPE) are desirable and beneficial.
• Strong Primavera expertise including resource leveling and planning processes.
• Experience managing large teams (25+ professionals).
• Proven track record in multi-billion-dollar project controls in EPC sectors.
• Proficient in SAP, EDMS, EcoSys/Omega365, and Acumen Fuse.
• Solid understanding of accounting/finance functions and cost control.
• Experience in FPMS setup, monitoring, and forecasting.

Urgent Opportunity for the role of Lead Project Controller Assam site

Responsibilities

As the Head of Project Controls, you are a strategic leader responsible for overseeing organizations project control processes. Your role is to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the desired quality standards.

• Developing and implementing project control strategies, processes, and procedures and monitoring their effectiveness. You oversee managing project schedules, budgets, and cost management and identifying and mitigating project risks. Additionally, you lead a team of project controls professionals and provide them with guidance, mentorship, and training.
• Build healthy working relationship with global project delivery offices spread across India.
• Provides pro-active cost, schedule, and risk management support to India Project Delivery organization to ascertain project health and driving successful on-time and within budget execution of projects, both, domestic and international projects.
• Technical leadership and continuous improvement of schedule, cost, risk, and change management functions.
• The Head of Project Controls must have excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills. They should have a deep understanding of project management methodologies and tools and a strong background in risk analysis, cost engineering, and scheduling. Being highly organised and detail-oriented, they can prioritise tasks, manage budgets and resources and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget

Experience & Education

• Post graduate or Masters degree in construction / project management + minimum twenty (20) years of experience in managing EPC projects specifically in the domain of project controls OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, and twenty two (22-25) years’ experience.
• PMP, PMI-SP, CCP, or CPE Certifications are desirable. 6+ years of experience in a leadership role in project controls in large EPC organizations.
• Strong understanding of Primavera and with overall planning process and best practice on industrial or large projects. Must have exposure to resource levelling in Primavera.
• Proven experience of managing a team size of 25 or more professionals.
• Must possess excellent team building, listening, problem-solving, and prioritization skills. Positive attitude, Leadership ability and Stakeholder management skills.
• Proven experience on managing project controls on multi-billion-dollar project
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, power point and Outlook
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to multi-task in a high paced project environment
• Experience with ERP system SAP, EDMS, EcoSys / Omega365 and Acumen Fuse is preferred.
• Understanding of accounting / finance functions and systems
• Experience with cost control including project estimating, forecasting and cost management including reporting.
• Experience in setting up, monitoring, controlling and forecasting the quantity-based field progress measurement system (FPMS)
• Construction experience with an ability to maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions in a construction environment.
