Job summary

Unisys in Bengaluru is seeking a senior network engineer to monitor, troubleshoot, and manage complex LAN/WAN and security infrastructure. You will drive incident management, change planning, and configuration management while coordinating with engineering and customers.

The role requires hands-on experience with Cisco routers/switches/WLCs (Meraki), virtualization concepts, and cloud familiarity (Azure/AWS). On-call availability and strong problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in networking technologies.
• ITIL foundation certification.
• Hands-on with Cisco routers, Catalyst switches, Nexus switches, WLCs Meraki devices.
• Knowledge of virtualization concepts and public Clouds like Azure, AWS, Google.
• Proficient in standard troubleshooting practices and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot Network Infrastructure per ITIL guidelines (Return-to-Service, Incident/Problem/Change).
• Configuration management of LANs, WANs, WLANs, network segments, security devices and Internet/Intranet systems.
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including patches and security configuration.
• Automate repetitive tasks and share best practices across teams.
• Remotely support customers and onsite technicians for WAN/LAN turn-ups.
• Work with engineering to develop customer and device knowledge base.
• Maintain design documents for all network infrastructure.
• Plan and implement network changes per ITIL change management process.
• Meet and exceed customer SLA/OLA metrics.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors to remediate issues.

Job description

• Monitor and troubleshoot Network Infrastructure within the guidelines of Incident Management (Return-to-Service), Problem Management (Reason for Outage) and Change management.
• Configuration management of Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), Wireless LANs, network segments, security devices and Internet and Intranet systems to ensure operability.
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including patches, hot fixes, and security configuration.
• Continuously explore the opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and share the best practices across all the teams.
• Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, routers, switches, WLAN controllers.
• Remotely support customers and/or onsite technicians test and turn-ups of WAN and LAN equipment.
• Work with engineering department to develop customer and device specific knowledge base.
• Maintaining and predesign documents for all network infrastructure.
• Maintains on-call availability to respond to network issues and up-time; must be flexible and available with the scheduling.
• Plan and implement network changes as per the ITIL change management process.
• Meet and exceed customer SLA or OLA metrics.
• Work with third party vendors to remediate and resolve customer issues.

• Minimum 8 years of experience in networking technologies.
• ITIL foundation knowledge and certification.
• Hand on experience in working with the following:
  • Cisco routers, Catalyst switches, Nexus switches, WLCs Meraki devices
  • HP, Aruba switches, routers WLCs
  • Cisco ISE, Cisco DNAC, ACI
  • SD WAN Silver peak, Velo cloud etc.

• Good level of understanding on the virtualization concepts.
• Knowledge on Public Clouds like Azure, AWS, Google

• Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness.

• Hand on experience with routers, switches, wireless controllers. (Cisco, Aruba, and Meraki)
• Professional level certification in one or more fields. (Cisco- CCNA, CCNP, SISE; Aruba - ACSA, ACSP, ACMX, ACSDP)
• Proficient with standard troubleshooting practices and methodologies.
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.
• Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.
• Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
