Job description

The Lead Manager – Education and Technology will lead Dharmalife Foundation's technology-enabled education and skilling ecosystem across LUYM, BSBC and JAYA. The role sits at the intersection of technology, education, pedagogy, people, data and field implementation, with the overall mandate of ensuring that technology translates into better learning outcomes, stronger teaching and training capability, greater programme reach and measurable impact.

The role will provide national leadership for digital learning platforms, learning quality, teaching and training standards, data and impact, responsible AI, safeguarding and digital governance.

Responsibilities

Own the technology-enabled learning ecosystem and ensure that platforms are relevant, usable, adopted, and scalable across programmes and states.

Platform & Product Ownership
  • Own the LUYM, Quest, Preschool, Roshni AI and JAYA platforms from product strategy and roadmap through implementation, adoption and continuous improvement.
  • Translate programme, learner, teacher and field requirements into clear product priorities and technology solutions.
  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps in alignment with organisational and programme priorities.
  • Establish product priorities based on learner value, learning outcomes, usability, scalability, cost and evidence of impact.
  • Drive continuous improvement based on user feedback, field experience, platform data and programme outcomes.
  • Ensure platforms are simple and intuitive for students, teachers, trainers, DLEs and programme teams.
Technology Adoption & Field Implementation
  • Drive adoption and effective utilisation of digital platforms across programme states.
  • Work closely with State Managers to address technology-related requirements, including devices, connectivity, user capability, content and platform adoption.
  • Establish implementation and onboarding processes for new technology solutions.
  • Monitor platform adoption, utilisation and user experience across states.
  • Identify field-level technology bottlenecks and ensure timely resolution with relevant technology/product teams.
  • Ensure technology solutions are appropriate for rural, low-connectivity and resource-constrained environments.
Government & Institutional Coordination
  • Support and lead technology-related engagement with government departments, schools, Anganwadi’s, BSBC centres and other institutional stakeholders.
  • Lead government approvals, renewals and periodic reviews required for technology-enabled programme delivery.
  • Build institutional partnerships that enable scale and sustainability of digital learning interventions.
  • Identify emerging technologies and evidence-based innovations relevant to education and skilling.
  • Evaluate potential EdTech, AI and technology partners.
  • Lead pilots and proofs-of-concept before wider deployment.
  • Build partnerships with technology companies, universities, research institutions and other ecosystem players.
Thought Leadership, External Representation & Knowledge Sharing

Share programme evidence and learnings, strengthen sector visibility, and build relationships with government, funders, technology partners, academic institutions and networks.
B. Learning Quality, Pedagogy & Workforce Capability

Own national standards for teaching, training and learning quality, ensuring that technology strengthens—not replaces—effective human facilitation.

Teaching & Training Standards
  • Establish national teaching and training standards across LUYM, BSBC and JAYA, covering lesson preparation, facilitation, learner engagement, assessment and digital tools. Promote inclusive, learner-centric blended learning, supported by classroom observation, quality assessment, coaching and continuous improvement mechanisms.
Teaching & Training Workforce
  • Provide functional leadership to teachers and trainers across states for pedagogy, standards, quality and safeguarding.
  • Lead national frameworks for recruitment, onboarding and capability development of teaching and training staff, in coordination with State Managers.
  • Define competency frameworks and performance standards for teaching and training roles.
  • Design and drive continuous professional development programmes.
  • Use data, classroom observations and field feedback to identify capability gaps and design interventions.

  • Ensure content is accessible, engaging, age-appropriate and contextually relevant.
  • Establish content quality assurance processes.

Build a culture where Dharmalife measures learning and skilling outcomes—not simply programme activity.

  • Own the consolidation of state-wise outcome and impact data across Preschool, LUYM and JAYA.
  • Own the accuracy, completeness and consistency of data feeding into the DL One national dashboard.
  • Establish clear definitions and data standards for:
  • Enrolment - Sessions delivered – Attendance - Participation

  • What are they learning? Where are learners dropping out?
  • Which interventions are producing results?
  • Establish mechanisms for baseline, periodic and endline learning assessment wherever appropriate.
  • Use data to identify learning gaps, programme bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Translate field-level data into actionable insights for State Managers, Programme Leads and senior leadership.
Leadership & Board Reporting

  • Ensure safe and appropriate interactions between learners and teachers/trainers across online and offline environments. Establish clear reporting, escalation and response mechanisms for safeguarding concerns.
Data Protection & Privacy

  • Implement role-based access and data-sharing protocols, and ensure partners comply with Dharmalife’s applicable data-protection, privacy and safeguarding requirements.
