Job summary

Symbiosis Management Consultants is seeking an experienced Lead – Land Acquisition to drive end-to-end land handling for existing mining operations, expansion projects, and future growth initiatives.

You will liaise with government authorities and stakeholders, lead due diligence, title verification, negotiations, and acquisition/lease processes, and coordinate with Legal, Projects, Mining Operations, Finance and ESG teams to ensure timely project execution and alignment with regulatory

Qualifications

• 18+ years of relevant experience in land acquisition and management.
• Experience in land records, title verification, and regulatory processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive end-to-end land acquisition activities for mining operations, expansion projects and growth initiatives.
• Develop land acquisition strategies and ensure timely availability of land in line with project requirements.
• Manage identification of land parcels, land due diligence, title verification, ownership mapping, negotiations and acquisition/lease processes.
• Liaise with government authorities, revenue departments, regulatory bodies and other external stakeholders.
• Lead negotiations with landowners, local communities and other stakeholders for complex land acquisition matters.
• Collaborate with Legal, Projects, Mining Operations, Finance and ESG/CSR teams to address land-related issues and ensure timely project execution.
• Identify and mitigate legal, regulatory, commercial and stakeholder risks associated with land acquisition.
• Monitor progress, approvals, documentation, costs and milestones and provide updates to senior management.

• Liaise and build strong relationships with government authorities, revenue departments, regulatory bodies and other key external stakeholders.
• Lead negotiations with landowners, local communities and other stakeholders for complex land acquisition matters.
• Work closely with Legal, Projects, Mining Operations, Finance and ESG/CSR teams to address land-related issues and ensure timely project execution.
• Identify and mitigate legal, regulatory, commercial and stakeholder risks associated with land acquisition.
• Monitor land acquisition progress, approvals, documentation, costs and critical project milestones and provide updates to senior management.

Preferred candidate profile

• 18+ years of relevant experience; candidates with 20+ years will be preferred.
• Significant experience in Land Acquisition, Land Management, Government Liaison and Stakeholder Management.
• Experience in Mining, Metals, Cement, Steel, Power, Infrastructure, Renewable Energy or other land-intensive industries will be preferred.
• Proven experience in handling large-scale and complex land acquisition projects.
• Strong understanding of land records, title verification, statutory processes, government approvals and land-related regulations.
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, government liaison and problem-solving skills.
