Job summary

Allegis Group is seeking an experienced Technical Lead for India operations. You will drive high‑level analysis, estimation, design, and execution across 2–3 projects, mentoring a team of around five engineers.

The role focuses on Java/Spring Boot, event-driven architectures, and delivering on tight timelines. You will refine technical designs, review code and test plans, and ensure robust release preparation with attention to performance and security considerations.

Qualifications

• Over 6 years IT experience, at least 2 years as Technical Lead.

Responsibilities

• High level requirement analysis, estimation and scheduling.
• Engineering activities planning, monitoring, tracking and status reporting.
• Prepare technical design and review design/code/test plans.
• Support testing in system integration and UAT.
• Release preparation and post-implementation support.
• Contribute to non-functional requirements like performance & security testing.
• Represent Engineering in project meetings with stakeholders and other IT teams.
• Lead a team of about 5 engineers to deliver as per timelines.
• Handle multiple projects (2–3) for small to medium size.

Role & responsibilities

1. High level requirement Analysis, Estimation & Scheduling


2. Engineering activities planning, monitoring, tracking, controlling and status reporting


3. Prepare Technical design


4. Conduct review of Technical design/code/test plan and test results


5. Testing Support in system integration & User acceptance testing.


6. Release preparation


7. Contribute in Non Functional requirement - Performance testing, Security testing


8. Post implementation Support


9. Represent Engineering team in project level meeting & discussions with stakeholder & other IT team


10. Lead & guide Engineering team (approx. 5) to deliver as per agreed effort & timeline


11. Work on multiple projects (2-3 projects for small to medium size)

Preferred candidate profile

More than 6+ years of IT experience of which at least 2 years as Technical lead

Must have

• Worked as Technical lead with min. team size 4 or 5.


• Software development & maintenance using SDLC & AGILE methodology


• Experienced in doing Technical design for project


• Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8+), with solid understanding of OOP, collections, concurrency basics, and JVM fundamentals.


• Proven delivery experience with Spring Boot (typical stack: Spring Web, Spring Data, Spring Actuator; Spring Security if relevant).


• Experience working on event-driven systems or frameworks (event processing, asynchronous integration, messaging patterns).


• Practical experience integrating enterprise/core systems with streaming or messaging tools such as:


• Apache Kafka (preferred) and/or equivalent pub/sub technologies.


• Strong understanding of API design, error handling, versioning, and backward compatibility.


• Comfortable with CI/CD ways of working and source control (Git), code reviews, and engineering standards.


• Familiar with security practices for development


• Good troubleshooting skills.

• Observability tooling: structured logging, metrics, tracing (e.g., OpenTelemetry), dashboards/alerts.


• Experience with performance tuning and reliability patterns (circuit breakers, bulkheads, retries with backoff).


• Exposure to domain-driven design, clean architecture, or platform engineering
