Optum India is seeking a Senior Java Full Stack Engineer to design, develop and deploy robust software components in a healthcare tech context. You will own API development, microservices, and cloud-enabled solutions with Java/SpringBoot and React across complex client engagements.

You will mentor peers, drive CI/CD pipelines, and influence architecture and security practices while collaborating with QA and operations to ensure scalable, reliable systems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Java API development experience.
• 10+ years as a Full Stack Engineer with Java/SpringBoot.
• 5+ years of React experience.
• Solid SQL and PostgreSQL experience.
• Hands-on with common IDEs (IntelliJ/Eclipse/VSCode).
• Experience with MVC/SOA architectures and high-configurability apps.
• Experience setting up CI/CD/CT pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Cloud computing experience with Azure and containerized apps.
• Awareness of testing tools like Cucumber/JUnit/Mockito/Selenium.
• Knowledge of cloud/distributed architecture patterns and security best practices.
• Ability to mentor team members and communicate with leadership.

• Set up development and testing environments and tools.
• Identify and resolve production and non-production issues.
• Provide technical support and guidance on Java applications and infrastructure.
• Mentor less experienced developers and guide design decisions.
• Envision end-to-end solutions for defined functional and non-functional requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

• Analyze, Design, Code, Review, Integrate, Implement, Install, Deploy and Maintenance of the computer programs and software components using specific tools and latest technologies including Java/J2EE, React, Web services (REST and SOAP), Microservices Framework, Apache Kafka, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, and Docker
• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable RESTful APIs for data exchange between healthcare systems
• Provides technical direction for the development, design, and systems integration across multiple client engagements from definition phase through implementation
• Leading the Implementation best engineering practices on CI,CD,CT and automated code reviews
• Leading Development of Azure Cloud Technology
• Identify opportunities to fine-tune and optimize applications of Java developed projects
• Communicate effectively with other engineers and QA
• Establish, refine, and integrate development and test environment tools and software as needed
• Identify production and non-production application issues
• Provide technical support and consultation for Java application and infrastructure questions
• Serve as a mentor to less experienced Developers
• Be able to envision the overall solution for defined functional and non-functional requirements
• Create, understand, and validate Design and estimated effort for given module/task, and be able to justify it
• Comply with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and business directives, changes including those relating to work location, team assignments, work schedules, and flexible work arrangements

Required Qualifications

• B.Tech / MCA / Msc / MTech (Minimum 16 years of formal education, Correspondence courses are not relevant)
• 10+ years of experience on Java API development
• 10+ years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer with Solid proficiency in Java, SpringBoot
• 5+ years of experience with React
• Hands on with SQL queries and PostGres experience
• Hands on with any of the IDE (IntelliJ/Eclipse/VSCode etc.)
• Good hands-on experience on MVC, SOA based applications, applications with high configurability
• Good experience leading setup of DevOps tools for CI/CD and CT setups
• Solid experience on Full stack Application development
• Solid process experience on waterfall and agile practices
• Experience on Cloud computing technologies
• Knowledge of Full Stack, Java, React, Azure Cloud, Docker, Container-Based development
• Knowledge of automated testing tools such as Cucumber, Junit, Mockito, Selenium
• Knowledge of Cloud/Distributed architecture design patterns
• Proficient with azure deployments and security best practices
• Proven solid analytical skills and experience on proof of concept development
• Proven ability to provide guidance to team and provide status to senior management
