Job summary

Optum India is seeking a senior full-stack engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using modern front-end frameworks and robust backend services.

You will collaborate with product owners, architects, and distributed teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, implement secure coding practices, and contribute to AI-enabled development tools across Azure, AWS, and GCP environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in full stack application development.
• Experience with React, Angular, and responsive web development.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience working in Agile delivery models and distributed teams.
• Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices.
• Solid experience in Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices architecture, and backend development.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, SQL, data modeling, and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of software design patterns, OO design, and secure coding standards.
• Proven solid analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using React, Angular, and TypeScript.
• Build backend services, APIs, and microservices using Java/Spring Boot, Python, Node.js, and related technologies.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, UX designers, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and cloud-based services across Azure, AWS, and GCP environments.
• Implement secure coding practices, performance optimization, and scalability standards to ensure enterprise-grade application delivery.
• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, design discussions, and technical solutioning sessions.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, DevOps processes, containerization technologies, and automated deployment practices.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive resolution across development, testing, and production environments.
• Partner with Quality Engineering teams to ensure high-quality releases through unit testing, integration testing, and defect remediation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by adopting emerging technologies, engineering best practices, and AI-enabled development tools.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and innovation.

Primary Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field

• Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform

• Solid experience in Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices architecture, and backend development
• Solid proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Solid understanding of relational databases, SQL, data modeling, and performance optimization
• Knowledge of software design patterns, object-oriented design principles, and secure coding standards
• Proven solid analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualification

• Exposure to AI/ML-enabled applications, automation frameworks, or healthcare technology solutions
