Job summary

Times Internet is seeking a Lead Financial Operations expert to own end-to-end reconciliation across remittance, payments, and related workflows. You will ensure financial accuracy, timely closure of reconciliations, and robust controls in a fast-moving fintech environment.

The role requires 6-7 years in financial operations, strong remittance and payment gateway reconciliation experience, and data-driven problem solving with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • 6-7 years of experience in financial operations, reconciliation, payments, remittance, or fintech operations.
  • Strong hands-on experience in remittance operations and payment gateway reconciliation.
  • Solid understanding of transaction lifecycle management, settlements, refunds, reversals, chargebacks, and exception handling.
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large transaction datasets.

Responsibilities

  • Own and monitor end-to-end reconciliation across remittance, collections, payouts, payment gateways, settlements, and finance records.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations between internal systems, banks, payment gateways, remittance partners, and other external partners.
  • Investigate, track, and resolve reconciliation breaks, failed transactions, settlement mismatches, chargebacks, reversals, refunds, and suspense items within defined timelines.
  • Validate partner, merchant, bank, wallet, and payment settlements for accuracy and completeness.
  • Work with finance, business, product, operations, compliance, technology teams, and external partners to resolve transaction-level discrepancies.
  • Maintain strong controls, audit-ready documentation, transaction trails, and issue-resolution records.
  • Prepare reconciliation dashboards, MIS reports, exception reports, ageing reports, and management updates for stakeholders.
  • Support month-end closing by ensuring reconciliation completeness and accuracy of financial data.
  • Monitor operational SLAs and ensure timely closure of exceptions, issue resolution, and settlement validation.
  • Identify process gaps and drive automation, workflow improvements, SOP enhancements, and control strengthening to reduce manual effort and operational risk.
  • Partner with technology and product teams to improve data quality, reporting logic, system reliability, and transaction monitoring.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required data, reports, and process evidence.

Role Overview

Abound is looking for a detail-oriented and highly accountable Lead Financial Operations professional to own and monitor the end-to-end reconciliation process across payment and remittance workflows. This role will be responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, timely closure of reconciliations, exception tracking, partner settlement validation, and operational control across multiple payment touchpoints.

The ideal candidate should bring strong experience in rremittance operations, payment gateways and high-volume transaction reconciliation, along with the ability to work cross-functionally with product, finance, operations, compliance, and partner teams. This is an individual contributor role for someone who can independently drive outcomes, improve controls, and build scalable reconciliation processes in a fast-moving fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and monitor end-to-end reconciliation across remittance, collections, payouts, payment gateways, settlements, and finance records.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations between internal systems, banks, payment gateways, remittance partners, and other external partners.

  • Ability to independently investigate issues, identify root causes, and drive resolution with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of financial controls, audit requirements, and operational risk management.
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder management ability.
