Position Purpose: To lead and manage environmental compliance, environmental management systems, sustainability initiatives, pollution prevention programmes, resource efficiency projects, and initiatives across the manufacturing plant. The role ensures full compliance with applicable environmental regulations, TVS Motor environmental standards, and ESG commitments while driving continual improvement in environmental performance, operational efficiency, and circular economy practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Environmental Compliance Management - Objective: Ensure continuous compliance with all applicable environmental laws, permits, and corporate standards.
  • Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations, statutory requirements, and TVS Motor environmental standards.
  • Maintain validity and compliance of:
    • Hazardous waste compliance
    • E-Waste Compliance
    • Battery Waste Compliance
    • Environmental Statements
    • Groundwater permissions (where applicable)
  • Coordinate regulatory inspections by:
    • State Pollution Control Board
    • CPCB
    • Ground water authorities
    • Local authorities
    • External auditors
  • Submit statutory environmental returns and reports within stipulated timelines.
  • Maintain legal compliance registers and compliance tracking systems.
  • Identify and assess new environmental regulations and evaluate business impacts.
  • Support environmental due diligence for facility expansions and process modifications.
  • Environmental Management System (EMS) - Objective: Maintain and continually improve ISO 14001-based Environmental Management Systems.
    • Maintain EMS as per ISO 14001 requirements.
    • Conduct periodic reviews of:
      • Environmental aspects and impacts
      • Legal compliance obligations
      • Environmental objectives and targets
  • Facilitate:
    • Internal EMS audits
    • External certification audits
    • Surveillance audits
  • Track corrective and preventive actions arising from audits.
  • Conduct management reviews and environmental performance reporting.
  • Ensure department-wise implementation of EMS requirements.
  • Wastewater Water Management - Objective: Optimize water usage and ensure compliant operation of treatment systems.
    • Ensure effective operation and performance of:
      • Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP)
      • Water treatment plants (WTP)
      • Sewage Treatment Plant (STP)
      • Reuse and recycling systems
    • Monitor:
      • Effluent quality
      • Water consumption
