Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited in India seeks a design engineer for restraints systems. You will work on conceptual design, mapping interfaces, developing CAD models in CatiaV5 R21, and coordinating with suppliers on feasibility and release.

Candidates should have BE-Mech or BE-Auto, 1–3 years of relevant experience, and will create BoMs, part numbers, drawings for release and homologation, plus participate in DFMEA/DR activities.

Qualifications

• BE-Mech or BE-Auto or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in restraints systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work on conceptual design of restraint systems.
• Perform packaging feasibility checks of components.
• Map airbag impact zones and pedestrian mapping in CAD.
• Create drawings, BoM, and part numbers for release and homologation.
• Coordinate with suppliers for DVP and design activities.
• Prepare gateway clearance documents and DFMEA/DR planning.
• Release designs per gateway milestones and interface sign-off.

Job description

• To work out on various proposals based on conceptual design.
• Packaging Feasibility check of Restraints components.
• To map airbag impact zone Ex. CAB, SAB and KAB
• To create Pedestrian mapping zone on vehicle in CAD.
• To make BRIC.To check interface issues. To make interface sign-off sheet.
• Design and drafting in CatiaV5 R21.
• Development of Restraints Systems with Supplier.
• BoM creation, Parts number creation. Create drawings for release and Homologation purpose.
• Release of design and drawings as per gateways.
• Prepare and release gateways clearance documents like Lesson learnt.
• Plan and conduct DFMEA, DR.
• To follow-up with Supplier for DVP and design activities.
• Concern resolution of Restraints system
• Resolution of line build and proto build issues
• Weight reduction cost reduction.
