Job summary

Mahindra And Mahindra Ltd. in Chennai seeks an experienced EV battery test engineer to drive validation and performance testing of Li-ion cells, modules and packs.

You will plan tests, analyze data, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and safety standards compliance. Candidates should have 7–8 years of experience, a BE/BTech in Mechanical or Electrical and Electronics, and strong knowledge of EV systems, battery standards including ISO12405, AIS, and other related

Qualifications

• Understand product life cycles of EVs.
• Knowledge on different Li-ion cells, modules and packs.
• Derive validation test cases for EVs.
• Good knowledge of vehicle systems in EVs.
• Experience with battery testing using cyclers (AVL/Arbin/Bitrode).
• Know battery automotive standards ISO12405, UN38.3, AIS 038, AIS048, AIS152, UL, SAE J2664, IEC 62660, GB/T.

Responsibilities

• Review DVPs, DFMEAs, test standards and procedures.
• Plan the tests and schedule test activities.
• Plan Capex requirements along with Infra related to testing.
• Prepare MIS for reviews and escalate key issues on time.
• Work with other test engineers and technicians to execute battery performance testing, electrical and mechanical tests.
• Analyze data to justify technical decisions and report results.

General Requirements

1. Understand product life cycles of Evs
2.Knowledge on Different types of Lithium ion Battery cells, Modules and pack.
3. Co orelate field issues to validation and DVP
4. Derive validation test cases related to Evs
5. Good knowledge on vehicle systems of Evs
6. Identify new failure modes in design
7. Connect DVPs to life cycle including End of life
8. Proven experience on Battery Testing with Battery Cycler equipment like AVL, Arbin, Bitrode etc. and their use in appropriate applications
9.Work with other test engineers and technicians to execute battery performance testing, Electrical Tests, mechanical Tests, Safety Tests using cycler/equipment’s and provide accurate result reports.
10.Knowledge on Battery Automotive Standards ISO12405,UN38.3,AIS 038, AIS048, AIS152, UL,SAEJ2664,IEC 62660,GB/T etc.
11.Knowledge on various types of measurement equipment to test batteries and cells.
12.Root cause analysis, 8D preparation
13.Relies on data to justify technical decisions and ability to clearly explain technical issues and Strong Willingness to take ownership and drive results
