Job summary

Symbiosis Management Consultants is seeking a Senior Battery Testing Engineer in Chennai to lead end-to-end testing of EV battery modules and packs. You will define DVP and DFMEA, plan resources and timelines, and coordinate lab testing using cyclers and infrastructure.

You will drive RCA, 8D resolution, and ensure AIS/ISO/IEC/UN38.3 compliance. You will manage CAPEX, install and commission testing setups, and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, handling high voltage battery systems with

• Good understanding of AIS/ISO/IEC/UN38.3 standards.

• Define and execute DVP (Design Verification Plan) and DFMEA with full ownership
• Plan, schedule, and manage testing activities including resources, budgets, and timelines
• Operate and coordinate testing using battery cyclers and lab infrastructure
• Drive failure analysis, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and 8D problem-solving
• Monitor test progress and present MIS reports to stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with AIS, ISO, IEC, and UN38.3 standards
• Lead CAPEX planning, installation, and commissioning of battery testing setups
• Manage and mentor a team of engineers and technicians

Preferred candidate profile

• 811 years of experience in EV battery testing / validation / EPT hardware
• Strong hands-on experience with battery modules, packs, and high voltage systems
• Proven ownership of DVP, DFMEA, and complete validation lifecycle
• Experience working with battery cyclers (AVL / Arbin / Bitrode or equivalent)
• Strong analytical skills with experience in failure analysis and problem-solving
• Prior experience in team handling (36 members)
• Good understanding of automotive testing standards (AIS / ISO / IEC / UN38.3)
• Exposure to battery lab setup, test automation, or data reporting is a plus
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
