Tata Technologies in Pune is seeking an Associate Design Engineer focused on mechanical packaging for EV battery systems. You will design packs/modules, create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings with GD&T, and apply DFMEA and tolerance analysis to optimize manufacturability.

The role requires 1–3 years of related experience, strong PLM/process knowledge, and familiarity with HV safety, BMS interfaces, and IP ratings.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 1-3 years in product design or mechanical packaging for EV battery systems.
• Proficient in 3D CAD modeling and 2D drawings with GD&T.
• Experience with DFMEA, DFM, DFA and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Familiarity with PLM release management processes.
• Experience designing battery packs, modules, cell integration, busbars, enclosures, cooling and sealing.
• Understanding HV safety, BMS interfaces, IP67/IP69, and automotive validation testing.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and ECN/ECR experience.
• APQP knowledge and continuous product improvement practices.

• Experience with DFMEA, DFM, DFA, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Familiarity with PLM release management processes.
• Demonstrated experience in designing battery packs, modules, cell integration, busbars, enclosures, cooling, and sealing.
• Knowledge of structural validation and laser welded assembly concepts.
• Understanding of battery technologies, BMS interfaces, HV safety, thermal management, and IP ratings (IP67/IP69).
• Awareness of vibration, crash requirements, and validation testing for automotive applications.
• Hands-on experience with prototype development, design reviews, root cause analysis, and engineering change management (ECN/ECR).
• Familiarity with APQP and continuous product improvement methodologies.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing.
