Job summary

Hirewand seeks an experienced embedded Linux engineer in Kolkata to design, optimize kernel and application components within Yocto-based platforms. You will work on filesystems, networking, and open-source C libraries, delivering robust, high-performance software.

You will contribute to Rolling Wireless software platform services (LTE/5G modem, Wi-Fi, audio), participate in architecture and detailed design, and ensure code quality through reviews and adherence to the company's coding standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field is mandatory.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming and Linux systems knowledge.
• Experience with Linux build systems: GNU Make, Autotools, CMake.
• Debugging and analysis using GDB, objdump, readelf; ability to analyze core dumps.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication; able to work independently and in teams.

Linux Kernel & Application Development – Develop and optimize Linux kernel and application components in Yocto, including filesystems, networking, open-source C libraries, debugging, and performance improvements.2. Software Platform Development & Maintenance – Contribute to Rolling Wireless software platform services (e.g., LTE, 5G modem, Wi-Fi, audio) and peripheral/framework development.3. Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution – Identify and resolve critical technical issues in embedded Linux environments.4. Software Architecture & Design – Deliver high-quality design documentation, including Software Architecture Design and Software Detailed Design for Linux-related features.5. Coding & Code Quality – Follow Rolling Wireless coding standards and develop high-quality C code， actively participate in code reviews, providing valuable insights and feedback in areas of expertise.Must have skills:1.
