Job Description
Role
- Own the vehicle integration and mounting development of radar sensors across ADAS programs.
- Define radar packaging, mounting concepts, installation requirements, and vehicle interfaces.
- Ensure optimal radar performance through robust mechanical integration and sensor positioning.
- Coordinate with sensor suppliers, vehicle architecture, body, bumper, exterior, and manufacturing teams.
- Drive design reviews, integration assessments, issue resolution, and engineering change activities.
- Support prototype builds, vehicle testing, validation, and production launch activities.
- Ensure compliance with radar field-of-view, functional, durability, EMC, environmental, and crash requirements.
- Manage quality, cost, weight, timing, and technical maturity targets for radar integration solutions.
What should you bring along
- Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in automotive sensor integration, vehicle packaging, or ADAS hardware development.
- Strong understanding of vehicle architecture, exterior systems, and sensor packaging constraints.
- Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Must have technical skill
- Experience in radar sensor integration and mounting design within vehicle platforms.
- Strong knowledge of automotive vehicle packaging and integration principles.
- Understanding of radar field-of-view, installation angle tolerances, and sensor performance impacts.
- Experience in CATIA V5/V6, DMU validation, clash analysis, and package studies.
- Knowledge of plastic and metal bracket design, tolerance stack-up analysis, and DFMA principles.
- Experience with DVP&R, DFMEA, change management, and engineering release processes.
- Understanding of automotive EMC, environmental, vibration, and durability requirements.
- Familiarity with BMW PLM systems.
- Knowledge of ASPICE and ISO 26262 development processes.
Good to have technical skills
- Experience integrating Radar, Camera, LiDAR, and Ultrasonic sensors within ADAS architectures.
- Knowledge of bumper design, front-end modules, grille systems, and exterior trim components.
- Exposure to CAE-based vibration, thermal, and structural analysis.
- Experience supporting vehicle testing, calibration, and validation activities.
- Understanding of sensor cleaning, de-icing, and environmental protection concepts.
- Familiarity with Req mgmt. tools like Polarion, or MBSE methodologies.
