Job summary

Mahindra is seeking a Lead Engineer - Body Systems CoE in Chennai to drive concept development, design reviews, and integration of BIW/Closure/Underbody sheet metal parts ensuring conformity to program milestones. The role requires hands-on engineering, CAD oversight, and coordination with suppliers and internal teams.

6–9 years of relevant experience and a graduate degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering are required, with the ability to translate customer needs into robust engineering

Qualifications

• 6 to 9 years of engineering experience in body systems.

Responsibilities

• Understand project requirements per program milestones for OEM product development.
• Support project delivery from kick-off to implementation, including QFD, benchmarking, feature analysis, engineering drawings and model release, CAE and validation support.
• CAD support for engineering proposals in consultation with internal and external (Supplier) experts.
• Release of drawings and models with system engineer.
• Preparation of Bill of Materials.
• Exposure to global requirements for BIW engineering and design (Body side Closures, Underbody and front end).
• Conceptualizing, designing and development of BIW/Closure/Underbody Sheet metal parts.
• Support to CDMM and other implementation teams for part development and quality initiatives.

• Support project delivery related to engineering and design from kick off to implementation, including; QFD, benchmarking, feature analysis, engineering, drawing and model preparation and release, CAE and physical validation support, development and implementation support)
• CAD support for engineering proposals preparation in consultation with internal external (Supplier) experts.
• Release of drawings and models with system engineer
• Preparation of Bill of material
• Exposure to global requirements for BIW engineering and design (Body side Closures, Underbody and front end)
• Conceptualizing, designing and development of BIW/Closure/Underbody Sheet metal parts
