Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited in Chennai seeks a Senior Vehicle Body System Engineer to lead the team in preparing 2D concept sections, 3D part models and 3D assemblies.

You will coordinate with Principle Engineers and Project Managers, provide data to CAE, and guide design activities to meet engineering deliverables, with deep expertise in aluminium manufacturing and automotive primary structures.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical or aeronautical discipline.
• 10 years automotive experience.
• Understanding of aluminium manufacturing processes.
• Ability to select materials and processes for engineering requirements.
• Experience in automotive primary structures using extrusions, sheet, cast/forged materials.

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Knowledge and Experience

• Educated to a degree level in a mechanical or aeronautical discipline
• 10 years automotive experience
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes associated with aluminium including but not limited to heat treatments, coatings, assembly and process tolerances
• Ability to select materials and processes appropriate to engineering requirements such as strength, durability, cost and manufacturing constraints
• Experience in the design and engineering of automotive primary structures utilising extrusions, sheet and cast/forged materials
