Job summary

Unisys Bengaluru is seeking an experienced AB Suite lead to design, develop, test, implement and support complex AB Suite applications. You will mentor engineers, drive best practices, and partner with analysts, architects and client teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions.

The role emphasizes production support, L2/L3 maintenance, code reviews, and ongoing modernization, with opportunities to influence architecture decisions and system reliability across programs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in enterprise application development, support, and maintenance.
• Hands-on AB Suite/EAE development and support experience.
• Experience with COBOL, Java, .NET, C#, Mainframe, RPG or other enterprise technologies.
• Experience leading development teams and technical workstreams.
• Experience in customer-facing environments and collaborating with globally distributed teams.
• Willingness to travel short/long term.

Job description

What success looks like in this role:

Lead the design, development, testing, implementation, and support of complex AB Suite applications.

Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams across multiple initiatives.

Collaborate with business analysts, architects, stakeholders, and client teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.

Participate in application architecture discussions and recommend improvements to system design, performance, maintainability, and security.

Review technical designs, code, and solution approaches to ensure quality standards are met.

Application Development & Support

Develop and maintain applications using Agile Business Suite (AB Suite).

Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production issues.

Support L2/L3 application maintenance activities while ensuring SLA compliance.

Design and develop new application components including Ispecs, Reports, Classes, Methods, and Services.

Perform code reviews and drive adoption of development best practices.

Contribute to application modernization and continuous improvement initiatives.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

Work directly with client teams for requirement gathering, solution discussions, status reviews, and issue resolution.

Provide effort estimates and technical impact assessments for projects and enhancements.

Communicate technical solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Participate in transition, knowledge acquisition, and stabilization activities.

Team Development

Mentor and coach AB Suite engineers.

Support skill development and technical capability building within the team.

Promote collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

Provide technical and procedural guidance across teams.

Quality & Operational Excellence

Drive adherence to coding standards, secure development practices, and quality processes.

Define and monitor quality metrics related to reliability, performance, and delivery.

Support root cause analysis and implementation of preventive actions.

Contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

• 10+ years of experience in application development, support, and maintenance of enterprise business applications.
• Hands‑on experience with EAE/AB Suite application development and support is highly desirable.
• Candidates with experience in COBOL, Java, .NET, C#, Mainframe, RPG, or other enterprise application technologies are also invited to apply. Comprehensive AB Suite training and mentoring will be provided to candidates who demonstrate strong technical aptitude and a commitment to learning the platform.
• Proven experience supporting business-critical enterprise applications in a production environment.
• Experience leading development teams, technical workstreams, or major project initiatives.
• Experience working in customer‑facing environments and collaborating with globally distributed teams.
• Knowledge transition, application onboarding, and production support experience is preferred.
• Flexible to undertake short‑term or long‑term travel, if required.
