Job summary

THERMAX in Pune is seeking a Lead Engineer Detail Engineering with 12–15 years of experience in mechanical design for air pollution control equipment. You will release detailed drawings, BOMs, and P&ID diagrams while guiding a team of engineers and drafters.

You will ensure designs comply with IS/BS/ASME codes, plan resources, and coordinate with vendors, customers, and internal departments to meet project milestones and quality targets.

Qualifications

• BE Mechanical/ME Design required with 12–15 years of experience.
• Role involves release of detailed engineering drawings, BOMs and technical offers.
• Must have knowledge of IS/BS/ASME codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Release Detailed Engineering drawings and BOM for air pollution control equipment and lead the team of engineers/draftsmen.
• Design equipment per IS/BS/ASME codes based on requirements.
• Prepare P&ID diagrams and General Arrangement drawings; manage bought-out components and BOMs.
• Lead engineering releases to align with project requirements and plan resources.
• Track deliverables and guide the engineering team; support problem-solving to ensure right-first-time releases.
• Plan and implement improvements such as cycle time reduction and product development.
• Coordinate with vendors, customers, and consultants; provide base support to multiple departments.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Release of Detailed Engineering drawing and Bill of Material for Air Pollution Control equipment’s such as Bag filters, ESPs, RABH, Scrubbers, Etc. leading the team of Engineers/Draftsmen.
• Design of above equipment’s as per IS, BS, ASME Codes based on requirements.
• Preparation of P & I diagram and General Arrangement drawings. - Responsible for Engineering of Bought out components and preparation of Bill of Materials and Technical offer evaluation.
• Lead the planning & implementation of engineering releases in line with Project requirements.
• Resources planning and allocation.
• Track project deliverables using appropriate tools & provide guidance and support to the Eng team
• Support Team members in Problem Solving - Ensure right first-time of engineering releases.
• Planning and implementation of improvement projects such as Opex, Ever lean, Design Cycle time reduction, Product & Component development etc.
• Co-ordination with Vendors, customer, consultants.
• Need base support to Pre-sales eng, site, QAC, Projects, Materials depts...

Critical Competencies:-

• - Good Academics Background.
• - Domain knowledge about Thermal & Mechanical Design of Air Pollution Control equipment , Material Handling Equipment’s, Process Equipment’s, Heat Exchangers, Boilers, Etc.
• - Knowledge of Indiana and International Standards such as IS, BS, ASME Codes, etc.
• - Knowledge of Eng. Depts procedures and processes.l
• - Knowledge of quality management and standards
• - Communication skills along with man-management skills.
• - Ability to handle the consultants & customers queries, conflicts and complaints.
• - Ability to assess risk & challenges and take proactive plans /actions to mitigate the same.
