Technip Energies in India, Gandhinagar, is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer / Sr. Principal Engineer - Electrical to lead electrical design for Petrochemical, LNG and refinery projects.

The role requires 15+ years of FEED and detailed engineering experience and leadership of multidisciplinary teams. You will ensure timely deliverables, compliance with international standards, and coordination with clients and vendors.

Qualifications

• B.E. (Electrical) with 15+ years of experience.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering for Oil & Gas, LNG, Refinery or Petrochemical facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise design of electrical systems and equipment for Petrochemical, Hydrocarbon, LNG and refinery projects.
• Ensure timely issuance of drawings, documents and deliverables per project schedules and quality requirements.
• Review Material Requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluations, engineering drawings and technical documents.
• Review design change requests and assess impacts on schedule, man-hours and cost.
• Coordinate with clients, partners, licensors, vendors, subcontractors and third-party organizations.
• Manage project staffing, budgets and resource planning across electrical scope.
• Ensure compliance with Quality, HSE and project KPI requirements.

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer / Sr. Principal Engineer - Electrical, reporting directly to HOD – Electrical to join our Electrical Engineering team based in Gandhinagar.

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced professional to oversee and manage the responsibilities below.

Engineering & Design

• Lead and supervise the design and engineering of electrical systems and equipment for Petrochemical, Specialty chemicals, Hydrocarbon, oil & gas projects.
• Ensure timely issuance of drawings, documents, and engineering deliverables in accordance with project schedules and quality requirements.
• Review and approve Material Requisitions (MR), Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE/TBA), engineering drawings and technical documents.
• Review design change requests and assess impacts on project schedule, man-hours and cost.
• Review electrical deliverables and interface with other disciplines to ensure project integration.
• Review and finalize project documentation before issue and project close-out.

Project Execution & Planning

• Review project man-hour estimates and engineering execution plans.
• Define project staffing requirements and support resource planning activities.
• Forecast resource requirements during project growth and change orders, coordinating with Department Managers as required.
• Support project controls in schedule development, progress measurement and productivity monitoring.
• Prepare and monitor engineering budgets for services and materials.
• Supervise project performance with respect to quality, schedule and cost.

Coordination & Stakeholder Management

• Coordinate with clients, partners, licensors, vendors, subcontractors and third-party organizations.
• Participate in project coordination meetings and technical reviews.
• Support resolution of contract, tender and technical interface issues.
• Liaise with statutory authorities whenever required.
• Support procurement activities through technical evaluation and review of vendor deliverables.

Team Leadership & Department Development

• Manage and supervise project engineering personnel.
• Define competency and qualification requirements for project team members.
• Support department development initiatives and implementation of lessons learned.
• Maintain records related to budget tracking, productivity measurement, change management and project performance.

Quality, HSE & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with applicable Quality Management System and HSE requirements.
• Implement project-specific Quality and HSE procedures through audits, reviews and compliance checks.
• Identify and report Quality and HSE concerns to Project/Department Management.
• Monitor and review project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on a regular basis.

Preferred Background

• Experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering projects for Oil & Gas, LNG, Refinery or Petrochemical facilities.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing electrical engineering deliverables.
• Familiarity with international standards, client specifications and major EPC project execution.
