Job summary

Ramboll India seeks a Lead Designer-BIM to join our engineering centre in Gurgaon. You will develop 2D drawings and 3D models for bridge and metro projects, coordinating with a global drafting team and ensuring timely, accurate outputs.

The role requires 8–14 years of experience, strong AutoCAD and Tekla skills, and familiarity with Rhino/Grasshopper. Knowledge of Euro codes is a plus; a B.Tech is advantageous, with a focus on international projects.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ITI in civil engineering required.
• B.Tech preferred but not mandatory for all.
• 8–14 years of relevant experience in design drafting.
• Experience with bridge drawings and 3D modelling mandatory.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Tekla is essential.
• Euro code knowledge or Swedish standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create 2D drawings and 3D models for bridge and transport projects; coordinate with drafting/modelling team.
• Ensure technical correctness and timely delivery of drawings, models, and documents.
• Coordinate with engineering input from project engineers and managers.
• Support compliance with steel and concrete detailing standards.

As our new Lead Designer-BIM, you will be part of a world class, innovation driven engineering design center owned by an independent
trust and its employees. REC is a highly sophisticated center of engineering excellence and based in our India head office in Gurgaon.
Working in partnership with all our established offices globally, the Ramboll Engineering Centre (REC) is a center for excellence in design
by offering optimized solutions to the rest of the organization.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

• Create, work on 2D drawings and 3D models for bridge, underground metro stations, port & marine projects, co-ordinate with other team members of the drafting/modelling team in accomplishing complex tasks.
• Is responsible for technical correctness and timely delivery of the drawings, 3D models and documents.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD & Tekla is a must. Knowledge in Rhino/grasshopper, MicroStation and Revit is desirable.
• Hands on experience with bridge drawings, quantity estimation etc.
• Will coordinate with technical manager or concerned engineers for input of drafting work in each project.
• Conversance with Euro code, Swedish drawing standards will be an add-on.
• Exercises self-discipline and work ethic, respect and follow company policies and procedures.
• Diploma in Civil Engineering or ITI Trained Professional with 8-14 years of professional experience. Candidate with B.Tech. will have the edge over others.
• Experience in bridge work, preparing general arrangement, reinforcement drawings, and reinforcement detailing, 2D and 3D modelling is mandatory.
• Should have knowledge of steel and concrete detailing standards.
• Must have experience in parametric 3D modelling and automation using Rhino/Grasshopper
• Must have experience on international project, Swedish experience is an advantage. 3D reinforcement modelling skills will be an advantage.
• Self-motivated, team player and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Flexible attitude, in an environment with frequently changing deadlines can be relied on to meet deadlines.
• Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role includes: Strong knowledge of AutoCAD & Tekla and good level of written and spoken English.
