Job summary

Ramboll India seeks a Senior Designer-BIM - Geotech to join its Gurgaon-based Engineering Centre. You will work in partnership with global offices to deliver optimized drafting solutions, 3D ground models, and coordination with engineers. Strong CAD skills and English communication are essential.

The role emphasizes quality, timely delivery, and collaboration on international projects, with exposure to Eurocode and potential Swedish project experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ITI in Civil Engineering; B.Tech preferred.
• AutoCAD and Civil3D are mandatory for drafting and design work.
• Strong English writing and speaking skills are essential.
• Experience in Geotech/ground engineering is desirable but CAD-based 2D/3D modelling is required.
• Experience on international projects is preferred; Swedish project exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide drafting guidance and support to junior technicians.
• Assist project team in developing/implementing drafting standards.
• Create 3D ground models and prepare plans, sections, and elevations.
• Coordinate with technical managers and engineers for input on drafting tasks.
• Produce detailed drawings and 3D models; ensure technical accuracy and timely delivery.
• Familiarity with Eurocode and Swedish drawing standards is a plus.
• Proficient in tunnel drawing/modelling and interpreting point clouds.
• Maintain discipline and comply with company policies and deadlines.

Job Description

As our new Senior Designer-BIM - Geotech you will be part of a world class, innovation driven engineering design centre owned by an independent trust and its employees. REC is a highly sophisticated center of engineering excellence and based in our India head office in Gurgaon. Working in partnership with all our established offices globally, the Ramboll Engineering Centre (REC) is a centre for excellence in design by offering optimized solutions to the rest of the organization.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

• Provides guidance and knowledge to juniors and works towards competence enhancement of other technicians within the team
• Will assist the project team towards developing/implementing draughting standards.
• Drawing of 3D ground model as per the investigation report, preparation of plan, section elevation drawings.
• Will coordinate & communicate with technical manager or concerned engineers for input of drafting work in each project.
• Will work on detailed drawings, calculations, and coordinate with other members of the team in accomplishing tasks, fluency in English is a must.
• Is responsible for technical correctness and timely delivery of the drawings, 3D models and documents.
• Conversance with Euro code, Swedish Geotech drawing standards will be an add-on.
• Proficient in tunnel drawing/modelling, interpretation of point cloud data.
• Exercises self-discipline and work ethic, respect and follow company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or ITI Trained Professional with minimum of 4 years of professional experience. Candidate with B.Tech. will be preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD & Civil3D is mandatory. Knowledge in Novapoint Geosuite is desirable.
• A very good level of English written and spoken communication is mandatory for this role.
• Preferred knowledge in Geotech/rock/road or any filed covering any kind of ground engineering, but CAD based 2D and 3D modelling.
• Must have experience working on international projects. Swedish project experience is an advantage.
• Self-motivated, team player and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Flexible attitude, in an environment with frequently changing deadlines can be relied on to meet deadlines.
