Recrew AI in India is seeking a Product Design Lead to own end-to-end UI/UX and the design system across six content and commerce verticals. This foundational IC role shapes visual language and design quality at scale, guiding engineering and product.

You will lead user research, accessibility standards, and collaboration with the Product Lead to translate requirements into intuitive experiences across multi-surface flows.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of product design experience with at least 2–3 years in design leadership or principal capacity.

• Own end-to-end UI/UX design across consumer app, admin portal, and CMS spanning video, audio, radio, micro-drama, news, and commerce surfaces.
• Define, build, and evolve the shared Design System and component library in partnership with the Frontend Architect.
• Set design standards, interaction patterns, and visual guardrails across all product surfaces.
• Lead user research and usability testing to ground decisions in real user data.
• Partner with the Product Lead to translate requirements into intuitive, high-quality user experiences across multi-surface flows.
• Conduct design reviews for high-impact features and maintain design quality across the platform.

Position Overview

The company is building a media super-app that unifies video, audio, radio, micro-drama, news, and commerce on a single platform. The Product Design Lead will own end-to-end UI/UX and the design system across all six content and commerce verticals — setting the visual and interaction language that engineering and product build against. This is a foundational individual-contributor role with outsized influence on product direction, design quality, and the long-term scalability of the platform's design infrastructure.

Role & Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end UI/UX design across the consumer app, admin portal, and CMS — spanning video, audio, radio, micro-drama, news, and commerce surfaces
• Define, build, and evolve the shared Design System and component library in close partnership with the Frontend Architect, ensuring components are technically feasible and performant
• Set design standards, interaction patterns, and visual guardrails applied consistently across all product surfaces
• Lead user research and usability testing to ground design decisions in real user data and behavioral insights
• Partner with the Product Lead to translate product requirements into intuitive, high-quality user experiences across complex multi-surface flows
• Conduct design reviews for high-impact features and maintain the design quality bar across the platform
• Own accessibility and localization standards as the platform scales across content verticals and geographies

Must Have Criteria

• 6–8 years of product design experience, with at least 2–3 years in a design leadership or principal design capacity
• Deep expertise in UI/UX design for consumer mobile and web products at scale
• Proven track record of building or scaling a design system used across multiple products or surfaces
• Strong portfolio demonstrating design work across complex, multi-surface consumer products
• Hands-on proficiency with Figma (or equivalent modern design tool) and design-to-development handoff workflows
• Demonstrated ability to operate as a high-impact individual contributor — leading through craft and influence rather than headcount

Nice to Have

• Experience designing for media, content, or commerce super-app environments
• Prior experience at a high-growth startup in a 0→1 product-building context
• Experience designing for multiple content formats (video, audio, short-form) within a single unified platform
• Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards and localization/internationalization design practices
