Job summary

Recrew AI is building a media super-platform and seeks a Frontend Architect to own end‑to‑end technical architecture across React Native apps, admin portal, CMS, and internal tools. You will set standards and drive a unified design system, ensuring scalable UI across six verticals while guiding a high‑impact frontend team.

You will collaborate with backend and platform engineers, lead architecture reviews, and own performance and debt management as the platform grows beyond Phase 1.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of frontend/mobile engineering experience, with 2-3 years in architecture, staff, or principal roles.
• Proven track record architecting frontend systems serving multiple products from a shared codebase or design system.
• Strong command of mobile performance optimization, state management patterns, and cross‑platform architecture trade‑offs.
• Hands-on experience building or scaling a design system and component library.
• Ability to lead through technical authority as a high‑impact individual contributor without direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Define and own frontend/mobile technical architecture across the React Native app, Admin Portal, CMS, and internal tools.
• Establish and evolve the shared design system and component library used across all frontend surfaces.
• Set technical standards, code quality bars, and architectural guardrails for state management, navigation, and pipelines.
• Partner with Backend Architect and Platform Engineer to define clean API contracts and integration patterns.
• Collaborate with the Tech Lead to translate architecture into an engineering roadmap.
• Conduct architecture and code reviews for high‑impact changes across mobile, web, and admin surfaces.
• Own frontend performance, scalability strategy, and technical debt management as the platform scales beyond Phase 1.

Position Overview

The company is building a media super-app that unifies video, audio, radio, micro-drama, news, and commerce on a single platform. This foundational individual-contributor role owns the end-to-end technical architecture across the React Native consumer app, admin portal, CMS, and shared design system. The Frontend Architect sets the technical direction and standards that the broader Frontend Engineering team builds against - defining how a single codebase scales across six content and commerce verticals.

Role & Responsibilities

• Define and own frontend/mobile technical architecture across the React Native app, Admin Portal, CMS, and internal tools
• Establish and evolve the shared design system and component library used across all frontend surfaces
• Set technical standards, code quality bars, and architectural guardrails - covering state management, navigation, module boundaries, and build/release pipelines
• Partner with the Backend Architect and Platform Engineer to define clean API contracts and integration patterns
• Collaborate with the Tech Lead to translate architectural direction into a deliverable engineering roadmap
• Conduct architecture and code reviews for high-impact changes across mobile, web, and admin surfaces
• Own frontend performance, scalability strategy, and technical debt management as the platform scales beyond Phase 1

Must Have Criteria

• 8-10 years of frontend/mobile engineering experience, with at least 2-3 years in a formal architecture, staff, or principal engineering role
• Proven track record architecting frontend systems that serve multiple products or surfaces from a shared codebase or design system
• Strong command of mobile app performance optimization, state management patterns, and cross-platform architecture trade-offs
• Hands-on experience building or scaling a design system and component library
• Demonstrated ability to lead through technical authority and influence as a high-impact individual contributor - without direct reports

Nice to Have

• Experience in a media, content, or commerce super-app environment
• Prior experience at a high-growth startup building 0-1 platforms
• Familiarity with GraphQL or REST API design to enable full-stack architectural conversations
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, build performance optimization, and release engineering for mobile apps
