Lead UX Designer – Bangalore (Onsite)
Job Summary: The Lead UX Designer is responsible for defining and driving the user experience strategy across digital products and platforms. This role combines hands‑on design expertise, user‑centered research, leadership, and cross‑functional collaboration to create intuitive, engaging, and accessible experiences. The Lead UX Designer mentors design teams, establishes UX best practices, and ensures that user needs align with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and champion the overall UX vision and strategy.
- Lead end‑to‑end user experience design initiatives across multiple products.
- Establish design standards, frameworks, and best practices.
- Influence product roadmap through user‑centric recommendations.
- Mentor and coach UX designers, researchers, and junior team members.
- Plan and conduct user research activities including interviews, surveys, usability testing, and workshops.
- Analyze user behavior, pain points, and feedback to inform design decisions.
- Translate research insights into actionable design recommendations.
- Develop personas, journey maps, and user flows.
- Create wireframes, mockups, interactive prototypes, and high‑fidelity designs.
- Design intuitive user interfaces for web, mobile, and enterprise applications.
- Ensure consistency through design systems and component libraries.
- Validate concepts through testing and iterative improvements.
- Partner with Product Managers, Developers, Business Analysts, and Marketing teams.
- Facilitate design workshops and stakeholder presentations.
- Communicate design rationale effectively to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Align user experience initiatives with organizational objectives.
- Ensure designs comply with accessibility standards such as WCAG.
- Advocate inclusive design practices and monitor UX metrics for continuous improvement.
- Conduct design reviews and quality assurance checks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human‑Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in UX/UI design, with at least 5 years in an independent role taking individual responsibilities and delivery.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end‑to‑end design processes and measurable business impact.
- Experience leading cross‑functional design projects.
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Axure, or similar.
