Job summary

SYSTRA is seeking a Lead Design Manager (Systems) for the New Delhi Railway Station redevelopment project in New Delhi. The role requires overseeing MEPF design across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and BMS, with strong collaboration among architects, engineers and contractors.

We value over 10 years of experience, including 5+ years in a similar role, and prefer a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering with a PhD.

Qualifications

• Total 10+ years of experience with minimum 5+ years in a similar role for a Master in Mechanical Engineering; PhD preferred with specialization in design (systems).
• Total 8+ years’ experience in similar projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects, consultants, and contractors to develop comprehensive design plans for MEPF systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building management systems (BMS).
• Provide technical expertise and oversight throughout all phases of the project, from design development to construction and commissioning.
• Identify potential risks and develop proactive strategies to mitigate them. Monitor project activities to address issues affecting performance of building systems.
• Facilitate coordination meetings with stakeholders to ensure alignment on systems requirements and milestones.
• Promote safety and compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards; ensure MEPF systems comply with codes and best practices.
• Ensure safety compliances, conduct safety training as per group policy (3S training).
• Ensure every team member undergoes Business Ethics and compliance training; awareness of Environment policy and 9 lifesaving rules; Anti-Corruption training.

We are seeking applications for the position of Lead Design Manager (Systems) for New Delhi Railway station redevelopment project based at New Delhi.

Missions/Main Duties

• Collaborate with architects, consultants, and contractors to develop comprehensive design plans for MEPF systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building management systems (BMS). Ensure systems are designed to meet project requirements, local regulations, and industry standards.
• Provide technical expertise and oversight throughout all phases of the project, from design development to construction and commissioning. Review technical specifications, drawings, and documentation to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with project standards.
• Identify potential risks and challenges related to MEPF systems and develop proactive strategies to mitigate them. Monitor project activities to identify and address any issues that may impact the performance or reliability of building systems.
• Facilitate coordination meetings with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients, to ensure alignment on systems-related requirements and objectives. Provide regular updates and reports on the status of MEPF activities and milestones.
• Promote a culture of safety and compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards. Ensure that MEPF systems are installed and operated in accordance with applicable codes and best practices.
• Ensure the safety compliances, conduct safety training as per group policy mainly 3S training.
• Ensure every team member must have gone through Business Ethics and compliance training
• Ensure every project member has knowledge of Environment policy of company.
• Ensure each member of team has gone through 9 lifesaving rules
• Everyone had gone through the Anti-Corruption training

Profile/Skills

• Having total 10 plus years' experience and Minimum 5 plus years in similar position for Master (Mechnical Engineering) +PhD Preferred - with Specialization in design(System).
• Having total 8 plus years' experience in similar project
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work within a culturally diverse organization, recognizing and respecting differences.
• Ability to problem solve, especially in an integrated project delivery environment, applying industry best practices.
• Ensure compliance of the Systra Group policies, particularly on ethics, safety and adherence to Company ISO 9001 and 14001 Standards.
