Job summary

SYSTRA India is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer/Project Engineer to join our design team in Bengaluru. You will review drawings, perform load and cable sizing calculations, and prepare electrical schematics and installation standards for power, lighting, and grounding.

The role requires a postgraduate in Electrical Engineering, strong planning skills, and the ability to work across disciplines. You should be comfortable with BIM, MS Project, and coordinating with MEP services;

Qualifications

• Graduate or POST graduate in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in project initiation, planning and budgeting is preferred.
• Proficient with Windows, MS Office and email communication.
• Knowledge of international and national electrical codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings prepared by CAD operators.
• Perform electrical load, transformer and cable sizing calculations.
• Prepare electrical installation standards for power, lighting and earthing.
• Prepare schematic diagrams and electrical drawings for space planning and MEP coordination.
• Coordinate with MEP services to locate equipment and routing of cables.
• Travel as required by project needs and ensure on-time delivery.

Context

Systra India's design business line is the leading design team for metros, highways, special bridges, Urban Planning and water projects in India. The team has designed over 900 kms of viaduct & Bridges along with 43 kms of tunnels and 82 underground stations, 345 Elevated & at-grade Stations, 19 Depots besides 300 plus stations being designed currently. The team has also completed 3,165 km of highways detail design projects and 22,506 km of design/ feasibility projects. The team has also worked on detailed design for Drainage and Utilities, design of WTP and STP etc.

We are also very proud to have designed the first monopile in India for the Mumbai Coastal Road project. We have the distinction of designing the fastest implemented metro project in the country with Lucknow and now have broken the record in Kanpur Metro. Apart from Indian projects the team also provides design services to projects as far as Philippines in the east to Columbia in the West.

• Voltage Drop Calculation
• Lightning Protection Calculation
• UPS Sizing
• Capacitor Bank Sizing
• Preparation of Electrical Installation Standard for Power, Lighting, and Earthing.
• Preparation of Schematic diagram of Electrical system.
• Preparation of Electrical drawing for space planning & coordinating with MEP space
• Coordinating with MEP services like Plumping, HVAC etc. to locate electrical equipment and providing cable tray & trunking routing.
• Modifying the drawings as per revisions based on Architectural, Structural drawings.
• Check all the requirements for site execution and provide accordingly.
• Making the modifications to individual service drawings as per co-ordination Drawings.
• Comprehensive knowledge of international & national code/Standards
• Prepare reports and study existing technical information clearly and precisely to attain client requirements.
• Gather data, conduct complex computation and develop diagrams.
• Perform as key engineering person on projects for both client and project team.
• Ready to travel according to project needs.
• Prepare BOQ, Cost estimation and technical specification

Profile/Skills

• Graduate/Post Graduate in Electrical Engineering
• Should have good working knowledge of Windows and MS Office and email conversant. Experience in Project Initiation, Project Planning;
• Preparing and Updating Microsoft Project Schedules.
• Proven ability to stay within approved budgets, schedules & achieve objectives.
