About Position:

We are looking for a highly motivated AWS Cloud Cost Optimization Engineer / FinOps Engineer to join our Cloud Infrastructure & FinOps team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing cloud spending across AWS environments while ensuring operational efficiency, scalability, and business alignment. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services, cost management tools, budgeting, forecasting, governance frameworks, and cloud financial management practices. You will work closely with engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, finance, and leadership teams to drive cost optimization initiatives, improve resource utilization, and establish sustainable cloud governance practices across the organization.

What You'll Do:

• Monitor, analyze, and optimize AWS cloud spending across multiple business units and environments.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities through resource right‑sizing, utilization analysis, and infrastructure optimization.
• Implement FinOps best practices to improve cloud financial accountability and cost transparency.
• Develop and maintain cloud cost governance frameworks, policies, and operational controls.
• Analyze cloud consumption patterns and recommend optimization strategies across compute, storage, networking, and managed services.
• Monitor AWS cost anomalies, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Create cloud spend forecasts, budgeting models, and utilization reports for financial planning and decision‑making.
• Develop detailed cost allocation models, chargeback, and showback mechanisms.
• Utilize AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Budgets, Compute Optimizer, Trusted Advisor, and Cost & Usage Reports (CUR) for spending analysis and reporting.
• Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to optimize application architecture for cost efficiency.
• Review cloud infrastructure utilization and recommend improvements to maximize performance while minimizing costs.
• Implement tagging standards and governance processes to improve cost visibility and accountability.
• Automate cloud cost reporting, dashboards, and governance workflows.
• Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives with cost optimization recommendations.
• Track key FinOps metrics and provide regular reporting to stakeholders and leadership teams.
• Participate in cloud governance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure cloud spending aligns with organizational budgets and business objectives.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 2-7 years of experience in AWS cloud operations, infrastructure management, FinOps, or cloud cost optimization.
• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS cost management and billing services.
• Deep understanding of AWS services including EC2, EBS, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS, EKS, VPC, CloudWatch, Load Balancers, NAT Gateway, and data transfer services.
• Experience using AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Budgets, Compute Optimizer, Trusted Advisor, and Cost & Usage Reports.
• Proven experience in cloud cost optimization, resource utilization analysis, and infrastructure governance.
• Strong understanding of cloud financial management principles and FinOps methodologies.
• Experience developing cloud spend forecasts, budgets, utilization reports, and optimization recommendations.
• Ability to identify cost anomalies, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective measures.
• Knowledge of cloud governance frameworks, tagging strategies, and cost allocation models.
• Experience implementing chargeback and showback reporting mechanisms.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a data‑driven approach.
• Experience automating reporting, monitoring, and governance processes.
• Understanding of cloud architecture and infrastructure optimization techniques.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, DevOps, finance, and business stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
• Experience working in Agile and cloud‑native environments.
