Airblack is seeking a Lead Backend Engineer in Gurgaon to own end-to-end backend development for a high-velocity consumer-tech platform. You will drive architecture for AI-enabled features serving 1M+ learners monthly, while mentoring a lean team in a fast-paced startup setting.

We value 5-10 years of backend experience, strong language skills (Python/Node/Go/Java), and a track record with databases, cloud platforms, and microservices. ESOPs and high ownership await.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of hands-on backend development experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend language (Python, Node.js, Go, Java).
• Strong command of SQL and NoSQL databases and caching.
• Experience with LLMs, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and API design principles.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-documented code.
• Strong problem-solving skills and persistence in debugging.
• A B.Tech in Computer Science is preferred.

What would you be doing?

• Own end to end development cycle from product conceptualisation with business to shipping the feature to measuring impact
• Setting the roadmap for agentic development cycles
• System architecture and performance for AI chat, personalised learning, AI Voice and multiple features touching 1M+ learners every month
• Mentoring and coaching other engineers

• 5-10 years of hands-on experience in backend development, preferably in a fast-paced startup environment
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend language (e.g., Python, Node.js, Go, Java)
• Strong command over databases (both SQL and NoSQL) and caching mechanisms
• Experience with LLMs, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and API design principles
• A knack for writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Strong problem-solving skills and a never-give-up attitude when debugging complex issues
• A degree in B.Tech Computer Science from top-tier college is preferred
