Job summary

EXL Health in Chennai is seeking an experienced Product Owner to drive clarity between business needs and technical delivery. You will own user stories, acceptance criteria, and detailed specs, and collaborate with engineering and QA in an Agile environment.

You will translate stakeholder requirements into actionable backlog items, participate in sprint planning, and ensure timely delivery of features while maintaining close alignment with healthcare domain goals.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role in Agile/Scrum.
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and product lifecycle management.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Documentation Efforts: Own the creation and maintenance of detailed documentation including user stories, functional specifications (FSDs), and acceptance criteria.
• Sprint Planning & Execution: Collaborate with engineering and Scrum teams to plan sprints, prioritize backlogs, and ensure timely delivery of features.
• Story Management: Write, refine, and manage user stories in the product backlog, ensuring clarity and alignment with business goals.
• Scrum Team Integration: Act as the voice of the customer within the Scrum team, participating in all agile ceremonies and ensuring continuous alignment between business and technical teams.
• Validation Leadership: Coordinate with QA and business users to validate features and ensure they meet acceptance criteria and business expectations.
• Business Translation: Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and engineering, translating complex business needs into clear technical requirements.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree

Experience:

• 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role within an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and product lifecycle management.
