Job summary

Wipro is seeking a Lead Admin for OpenShift in Bangalore. The role involves onboarding applications to OpenShift/Kubernetes, managing Deployments, StatefulSets, Services, and ConfigMaps, and troubleshooting deployment issues.

You will help with blue-green deployments, scaling, and cluster configuration in a collaborative, high-availability environment. Ideal candidates have 5-8 years of hands-on experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms, with strong DevOps and monitoring

Qualifications

• Experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and container platforms in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of RBAC, Secrets management, and network policies.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and CI/CD tools.

Responsibilities

• Triaging and resolving high-priority incidents with root cause analysis.
• Monitor SLA compliance and escalate proactively as needed.
• Tune performance and assist capacity planning for platforms.
• Lead system improvements and evaluate new tools with teams.
• Support disaster recovery planning and security controls.
• Prepare performance reports and participate in service reviews with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with teams to manage OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters and deployments.

Lead Admin - Openshift

Key Responsibilities

• Support onboarding applications onto OpenShift/Kubernetes platforms.
• Create and manage Kubernetes resources such as Deployments, StatefulSets, DaemonSets, Services, ConfigMaps, and Secrets.
• Troubleshoot containerized application deployment issues.
• Support rolling upgrades, blue-green deployments, and application scaling.
• Assist development teams during container adoption and modernization initiatives.
• Ensure platform stability, scalability, and high availability.
• Collaborate with the Canada Post team to build, configure, and manage OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters.
• Configure nodes, namespaces, projects, resource quotas, and cluster policies.
• Work with the CPC team to configure cluster networking, ingress, routes, and service exposure.
• Configure namespaces, quotas, projects, and RBAC policies; manage PVs, PVCs, and storage integration.

Areas of Responsibility

• Triaging and resolution of tickets-Provide resolution to high priority incident (P2) tickets, performing advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis to ensure timely closure.
• SLA Monitoring-Ensure SLA compliance for assigned technology areas and ensure proactive escalation management.
• Performance tuning and optimization-Analyse system performance data, coordinate findings on system behaviour, and support capacity planning initiatives to enhance overall system efficiency.
• Perform system Improvements-Create mitigation measures to evaluate new tools or improvements by collaborating with technical teams.
• Handling disaster recovery-Perform security assessments and recovery drills, and implement necessary controls to ensure compliance with established security standards.
• Reporting and stakeholder engagement-Participate in weekly and monthly service review meetings, provide updates on performance and issues, and support stakeholder communication to ensure transparency and service alignment.
• Team Management-Collaborate with team members to resolve open tickets and service requests.
• Knowledge base and continuous learning-Contribute to updating SOPs, knowledge articles and maintaining the knowledge repository for the purpose of future ticket resolution.
