Job summary

Deloitte Shared Services India in Bengaluru seeks an experienced OpenShift/Kubernetes administrator to manage and support enterprise-grade Red Hat OpenShift platforms in on-prem environments. The role focuses on administration, security, performance, and lifecycle management of OpenShift platforms to support business-critical applications in regulated environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years IT experience with hands-on OpenShift/Kubernetes administration.
  • Experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP 4.x) and Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of OpenShift architecture, networking, storage, and cluster administration.
  • Experience managing containerized workloads in development, test, or production environments.
  • Hands-on with RBAC, SCC, certificates, and secrets management.
  • Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Loki).
  • Strong Linux (RHEL) administration skills.
  • Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Shell Scripting, Terraform).
  • Exposure to CI/CD and GitOps tools (ArgoCD, Tekton, Jenkins).
  • OpenShift/Kubernetes certifications preferred (RHCSA OpenShift, CKA, CKAD).

Responsibilities

  • OpenShift & Kubernetes Administration.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain OpenShift clusters.
  • Manage OpenShift components including Operators, Image Registry, Ingress, Routes, and etcd.
  • Administer Kubernetes resources (Pods, Deployments, StatefulSets, DaemonSets, Services, Namespaces, ConfigMaps, Secrets, PVs, PVCs).
  • Perform routine cluster maintenance, health checks, backup, and recovery.
  • Monitor cluster health, performance, and availability with enterprise tools.
  • Troubleshoot OpenShift platform, application, networking, and storage issues.
  • Support platform upgrades, patching, and change implementation.
  • Implement and manage RBAC, SCC, authentication, certificates, and secrets.
  • Support OpenShift networking components (Routes, Ingress, Network Policies, DNS, Load Balancer).
  • Manage persistent storage via Storage Classes, PVs, PVCs, NFS, SAN/NAS, CSI storage solutions.
  • Ensure security and compliance adherence.
  • Develop automation scripts (Ansible, Shell Scripting, Terraform).
  • Support CI/CD and GitOps (ArgoCD, OpenShift Pipelines Tekton, Jenkins).
  • Assist application teams with container deployments/troubleshooting.
  • Integrate OpenShift with monitoring, logging, registry, and identity management solutions.
  • Participate in production support, incident resolution, and root cause analysis.
  • Create/maintain SOPs and runbooks.
  • Collaborate with Linux, Network, Security, Infra, and App teams for platform stability.

At Deloitte you are responsible to manage, and support enterprise-grade Red Hat OpenShift platforms in on-premises environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, security, performance, and lifecycle management of OpenShift platforms, supporting business-critical applications in regulated environments.

  • OpenShift & Kubernetes Administration

  • Assist application teams with container deployments and troubleshooting.
  • Support integration of OpenShift with monitoring, logging, registry, and identity management solutions.

  • Create and maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and runbooks.
  • Work closely with Linux, Network, Security, Infrastructure, and Application teams to ensure platform stability.
Key skills required:
  • Education-Bachelors in Engineering
  • 8 years of overall IT experience with 56years of hands-on OpenShift/Kubernetes administration experience.
  • Experience working with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP 4.x) and Kubernetes.
  • Good understanding of OpenShift architecture, Operators, networking, storage, and cluster administration.
  • Experience managing containerized workloads in development, test, or production environments.
  • Hands-on experience with OpenShift security concepts including RBAC, SCC, certificates, and secrets management.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Kibana, or Loki.
  • Strong Linux (RHEL) administration skills.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Shell Scripting, or Terraform.
  • Exposure to CI/CD and GitOps tools such as ArgoCD, Tekton, or Jenkins.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • OpenShift and Kubernetes certifications (RHCSA OpenShift, CKA, CKAD, or equivalent) are preferred.
