Job summary

Altiquence Communications seeks a senior OpenShift SME to lead design, deployment, and optimization of enterprise-grade container platforms. You will apply deep hands-on OpenShift, Kubernetes, and cloud-native expertise to resolve complex platform challenges and collaborate cross-functionally.

The role focuses on architecture, security, automation, and CI/CD pipelines, mentoring DevOps teams, and ensuring robust infrastructure with RBAC, service mesh, observability, and scalable storage

Qualifications

• 8+ years of IT experience with 4+ years in OpenShift/Kubernetes administration (mandatory).
• Hands-on expertise with Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes, Docker/Podman.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.
• Knowledge of API gateways (e.g., Apigee, Kong, NGINX, AWS API Gateway).
• Familiarity with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd, Consul, Envoy) and CNCF projects.
• Automation and scripting: Ansible, Terraform, Helm, YAML; Bash/Python.
• Security: RBAC, secrets management, OAuthSSO, vulnerability scanning.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, installation, configuration, and upgrades of Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
• Manage and troubleshoot Kubernetes cluster operations: nodes, networking, storage, and security.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows using ArgoCD, Tekton, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
• Experience with API gateway platforms and service mesh technologies.
• Provide platform-related guidance and mentor DevOps teams; maintain documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, installation, configuration, and upgrades ofRed Hat OpenShift clusters
• Manage and troubleshoot Kubernetes cluster operations, including nodes, networking, storage, and security
• Design and implementCI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflowsusing ArgoCD, Tekton, Jenkins, or GitLab CI

• Administer container image registries (OpenShift Registry, Quay, Nexus, Artifactory)
• Performcapacity planning, performance tuning, and node lifecycle management
• Implement monitoring and logging usingPrometheus, Grafana, Loki, EFK/ELK, Splunk, Datadog, or similar opentelemetry tools
• Integrate OpenShift with enterprisestorage, networking, and cloud services
• Drive automation usingAnsible, Terraform, Helm, and scripting (Bash/Python)
• ProvideL3/L4 troubleshooting supportfor critical issues
• Maintain architecture diagrams, SOPs, and detailed documentation
• Mentor DevOps teams and provide platform‑related guidance

Required Skills & Qualifications

• At least 8+ years of overall IT experience, including4+ years in OpenShift/Kubernetes administration (mandatory)

Strong hands‑on expertise with:

• Red Hat OpenShift (OCP 3.x / 4.x)
• Kubernetes core components
• Docker / Podman containers
• Helm, Operators, Tpekton, ArgoCD

Deep knowledge of:

• Cluster networking (SDN/OVN-K, ingress, routes)
• Persistent storage (CSI drivers, RWX/RWO concepts)
• Linux (RHEL) administration
• Cluster security, RBAC, certificates, OAuth
• Strong automation experience withAnsible, Terraform, Helm, and YAML
• Proficient in scripting (Bash/Python)
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Experience working inDevOps or Agile environments
• Familiarity withcloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Preferred Skills

• Red Hat certifications:EX280, EX288, RHCE, DO280
